An analog or digital video camera, which is better?

Camcorders delight us for quite a long time, because for the first time they became popular in the seventies of last century. For this decent period of time in 40 years, video cameras have undergone a huge number of changes, starting with a reduction in size and ending with a completely different principle of work. Therefore, now more than ever, almost every house has an inexpensive good video camera or a professional and fancy video camera, which is better - this is already a matter of your personal choice.

An analog or digital video camera, which is better?

The original source of the first video camera, of course, was its analog model. Analog video camera almost always differed in its impressive size and serious energy consumption. And all the information filmed on such a device has always been recorded on a tape, which, by the way, has also undergone a huge number of changes. All sorts of analog video recording formats were invented, from VHS to Video 8, but ultimately all these innovations in the field of analog video cameras, to date, are simply history.

Based on the poor quality of the material being shot by an analog video camera, and also the difficulties with processing this very material, the leading manufacturers of video cameras managed to find a positive way out of this situation. A new video recording format was invented and used, which was called the digital recording signal. The digital format of video recording of the image completely coped with the analog problems, and besides this the recorded information can easily be transferred to a computer.

The sizes of digital video cameras are 2-5 times smaller than their analog grandparents, and information can be recorded on a laser disc, a small video cassette or a memory card. The most used formats for digital video recording are micro micro, mini DV, DVD and Mpeg4. The first two formats are recorded on a video cassette, DVD on a laser disc, and Mpeg4 directly on a memory card, by the way, the latter option, as for me, is most convenient and practical. Therefore, in a dispute in which an analog and digital video camera is involved, which one is better not to speak, because everything is as clear as a day.

Optics, zoom, stabilizer and other nuances.

Having stopped on a digital format of video recording, no less attention should be paid to the optics of your camcorder. One of the world's giants of video and audio equipment, the company JVC for example, puts on video cameras, only its optics, specially designed and designed for a certain type of video camera. But companies like Panasonic and Sony prefer to trust a special, optometric firm, Carl Zeiss. Surely you have already heard about this brand more than once, because the optics of Carl Zeiss is considered one of the best, not for one hundred years.

The video camera also has a zoom, which allows you to zoom in a few times, usually ten, but in truth, it's in a digital video camera that the zoom is only for a tick. The fact is that when you zoom in on a video image using the zoom function on a digital video camera, the quality of the resulting image gets very bad, that is, the image is approaching, and the number of pixels on the contrary becomes smaller.

Fans of making videos, very often face a small problem during shooting. The hand held camera shakes a little, because the picture is moving, and the resulting picture can also shake. In order to maximally remove this jitter in the frame, modern video cameras have a stabilizer, the main function of which is just to keep the picture from small jitter.

Of course, it is desirable that the video camera has as many additional connectors as possible. It is impossible to say with great certainty that the coolest of all this or that video camera, which is better for you, is the main criterion. By the way, the best camcorder in 2011 is probably Canon LEGRIA HF M41, but nevertheless new models Sony, Panasonic and JVC are unlikely to give her the palm tree in the near future.
