About the club

Igor Butman's club on Taganka is the jazz center of the capital. It opened in 2007 and was repeatedly announced the best jazz club in the world. At first the organization was located on the Clean Ponds. In 2014 the club moved to Taganka. Concerts are held here and interesting projects are born. In the I. Butman club, Russian jazz stars and world celebrities perform. And also here they often open new names. The club often holds various festivals. Here you can listen to jazz, soul, blues, funk, etc.

Igor Butman

I. Butman was born in Leningrad in 1961. Igor graduated from the Musorgsky Musical College. It was there that he got carried away by the saxophone. After graduation, he moved to Moscow and worked in the orchestra of Oleg Lundstrem.

In 1987 Igor moved to the USA. There he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in the specialties - composer and saxophonist. Since 1991 he worked in the Lionel Hampton Orchestra in New York.

In 1996 I. Butman returned to Russia.

From 1989 to 2005 Igor led his own television program "Jazzophrenia" on the channel "Culture".

In 1999, the musician created a big band, which was visited by a large number of countries. In 2003 the orchestra of I. Butman recorded his first album.

In 2007 he organized his jazz club. Igor Butman today knows and loves not only Russia, but the whole world. He actively participates in various TV shows, is a laureate of prizes and runs a record company. I. Butman was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Russia."
