  • Apples of medium size (about 9 pieces);
  • Fruits of hawthorn (500 g);
  • Drinking water (9 liters);
  • Sugar (1 kg).

Compote of hawthorn can be done by performing a number of the following steps.

  1. Preparation of apples. They need to be washed, removed from the damaged areas and stems, then divided into segments, cutting off the inner part with the seeds.
  2. Preparation of hawthorn. With fruits, remove the stems, wash and, if possible, split in half.
  3. Preparation of syrup. Boil the water in a saucepan, add sugar and hold on the fire for about 3 minutes.
  4. Basic work. In the sterilized glass containers, put apples and hawthorn, pour hot syrup and clog the container.
  5. Put the jars with compote to cool, and they need to turn over to the lids.

Other recipes

Compote of hawthorn can be harvested in another way, for this you need to clean the fruits of this plant (500 g) and cut into halves, then, having cleared from the seeds, put in a prepared glass container. Pour pre-prepared syrup from water (1 L), citric acid (5 g) and sugar (400 g). Hold the jars in a water bath (about 85 ° C) for about 30 minutes, then roll the lids.

Jam is also good for hawthorn. A recipe is known from the fruits of this plant with apples, the main points of which are presented below.

  1. Peel the apples and divide into slices, remove the cotyledons.
  2. Hawthorn needs to be cleaned of seeds.
  3. Fill all the ingredients with sugar and let it brew until the juice is extracted, with the ratio of all components 1: 1: 1.
  4. The process of cooking jam consists of several stages. Initially, the mass is heated to boiling and with reduced heat, cook for about 5 minutes. After 8 hours, these actions are repeated, while the mass must acquire a viscosity and a rich taste. Hot mass is put into a prepared container and clogged.

Preparing the hawthorn does not require much effort, and it is possible to make various blanks from this useful product. The use of this remedy will enrich the body with vitamins and other essential elements in the cold period and protect against the occurrence of colds and other ailments.
