How to Make Crocuses from Corrugated Paper

One of the first flowers in the spring there are crocuses, or saffron. These are small purple, yellow, white, lilac, pink, blue flowers with a bright yellow (orange) core. Despite its simplicity, the flowers in their own way are elegant and mysterious. Let's try to transfer this beauty to artificial flowers and make a whole bunch of crocuses made of corrugated paper.

What you need to work

To create our creation you will need:

  • White, yellow, green paper;
  • Stick (skewer, toothpick);
  • Wire or thread;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • Basket decorative.

Let's talk a little about the necessary material for the master class. For these colors, choose a more smooth crepe paper (not an accordion). Crocuses of corrugated paper look like real, because the thin texture allows the material to take any shape at the touch of your fingers. Such paper is sold in rolls and cut sheets of A4 size.

The length of the rod will determine the size of the stem and petals. For small decorative baskets, vases, pots, use a toothpick. For vases taller than 15 centimeters, create large flowers on skewers. If the stems are made from wire, then the flower can be tilted in either direction.

The basket can be bought or weaved from paper. Instead, you can take a plastic cup and zadekorirovat it under a vase or pot. Use any decorative accessories, which, in your opinion, will do.

MK: corrugated paper crocuses

For one flower, you need to cut 6 strips of paper with a length of 13 cm and a width of 2.5 cm. Corrugated lines should be placed along, rather than across. Determine the center of the strip and twist it twice. This will be the base of the petal.

Now fold the strip in half and form the top of the petal. To do this, fingers need to stretch the paper upwards in different directions. Try to wrap the corners slightly inward and round them. The base of the resulting double lobe is squeezed and twisted.

For the core , cut a small rectangle of yellow or orange into thin strips. You will get a kind of "fence", which you wrap around the stick and glue it. The core is slightly inflated and begin to build up the petals. First, attach three inner, then as many outer petals, give them a shape and fasten with a wire or thread.

Color Assembling

We continue to make crocuses from corrugated paper. Take the green paper and cut it into long strips two centimeters wide. In this case, the corrugated lines must be arranged transversely. Now make the leaves. Slice thin strips one centimeter wide.

We form leaves in two ways. In the first case, make the edge sharp, bending the corners. In the second case, twist the strip into a tube. You will get completely different narrow leaves that you glue to the stem or wrap around with green paper. For the stalk, fold the strip in half and wrap the stalk around it.

If you pay attention to live crocuses, you will see that they have a very interesting stem. The fact is that the flower petals at the base are darker, and go to the stem. Therefore, it can be made and purple, and lilac, and pink. Or make a sepal of six teeth of paper that will be lighter or darker in tone compared to the petal. By this principle, make the right amount of crocuses.

Crocus basket

Take an ordinary plastic bucket, cardboard and corrugated paper. The bottom line is that you will glue a bucket with corrugated tubes, which, due to their volume and "tuberosity", will create an unusual kind of wicker basket.

How to make corrugated tubules:

  • Cut off the corrugated paper fifteen-seventeen centimeters wide (if you have ready-made sheets, then you do not need to cut it off);
  • Mark the middle with a pencil;
  • On 4 mm needles wind on both sides of the paper to the middle;
  • Holding the knitting needles, squeezing the tubes together with their ends, creating an "accordion";
  • Gently remove from the spokes corrugated tubule.

Now, with such pipes, pasting a bucket, which previously need to remove the handle and protruding edges. From the cardboard, cut out the strip (handle) and glue it with corrugated tubules. At the bottom, you can put plasticine and insert crocuses from corrugated paper into it. The basket with the bouquet of flowers is ready!

How else can you make crocuses

In living flowers, the core immediately attracts attention. The bright orange pestle, as it were, bursts out of the bud, in which the light petals alternate with the dark ones. By the way, the petals can be striped, so they can be painted with colors. Some masters of flowers from corrugated paper (crocuses) do in a subtle way, that is, each petal is cut out separately. But then they need to be done not 6, but 12, to create bulk.

How to make the core of crocuses more voluminous? Take the corrugated paper and cut a rectangle 8 cm long. Cut it into centimeter strips and twist them into narrow sticks. Now grease them with PVA glue and dipped in semolina, which beforehand paint in yellow.

Leaflets can be cut from paper by pattern. Or a long 1.5-cm rectangle gently bend at the edges: creating from one end an acute angle, the other will receive a centimeter base. The sepal can not be done separately, but formed when the stalk is wound. To do this, bend the rectangular strip so as to create a little piece in which to put the flower, and gently wrap the stem further with paper, attaching the leaves.

How else can you bring flowers from paper

Crocuses can become not only decorative, but also a delicious gift. To do this, stick a piece of candy on the toothpick or skewer, which you will wrap with petals. Here the petals can be made as follows:

  • Cut off a long strip of paper;
  • From one side, cut off the corners, forming a small base;
  • On the other hand, retreat 2 centimeters and twist once the strip;
  • Bend the end inward and form a convex petal.

The rest of the process of creating crocuses is the same as described above. Here it is important to fix the candy so that it does not bend and does not distort the petals. Set this bouquet in a basket or vase and give it to colleagues at work.

Crocuses of corrugated paper can be represented as a three-dimensional panel. To do this, paste a basket of corrugated tubes onto the cardboard, and insert and paste the flowers in it. Frame it - and get an unusual picture.
