Verbena is a unique plant that has both a medicinal variety and a decorative one.

Verbena medicinal is used for psychoemotional stress, hysteria, insomnia, epilepsy, ARVI, influenza and pneumonia. The healing properties of verbena were discovered by mankind in ancient times. Verbena was often credited with various mystical properties. The Druids were sure that this plant heals from all diseases, and also kindles love in hearts, promotes the reconciliation of enemies and removes evil spirits. Sometimes verbena infusion was added to drink to a loved one in the hope of gaining reciprocity.

In ancient Greeks and Romans, verbena was considered a sacred plant. Verbena sanctified the altars and altars. The wreath of verbena was a symbol of marriage, cleared of the negative influences of the temple and houses, destroyed conspiracies and spells. The Iranians were filled with verbena. In Celtic culture, this mystical plant was used in magic. In many pagan sorcery recipes, verbena is recorded as the main ingredient in a potion or cleansing bath. Ambassadors often used verbena as a herb of peace. She was held in her hands, going to important negotiations, and threw out, ceasing to hope for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Growing verbena in your garden is not very difficult. Decorative verbens fill many Russian cottages and gardens as annual flowers. Verbena seeds are scattered on the surface of the soil, not burying, in March-April. It is desirable to dilute the soil with perlite or sand. A plate with seeds should be covered with glass and kept for a couple of days at a temperature of 25 degrees. As soon as two days later the seeds begin to peck, the dish is moved to a cool place. Sprouts usually appear on the fifth or sixth day after sowing. Seedlings do not tolerate changes in humidity and often die from the "black leg". It is recommended to pinch ampel varieties over the fifth sheet.

Like any garden annual plant, verbena is planted in the flower garden after the end of frost. Sprouting verbena sprouts in dry soil, each well is poured with two glasses of water. The first two weeks of verbena require a moderate regular watering. Then the plant can be watered much less often.

If you carefully take care of verbena, you will be pleased for a long time with its lush bright flowers. Verbena is rather unpretentious, as it is brought from hot and dry tropics. But still requires regular feeding and pruning. As soon as the plant has faded, immediately trim the stem with dead buds a quarter, otherwise the branch will no longer have flowers. Verbena needs complex fertilizers, which it is better to feed the flower 3-4 times a summer. But remember that from excess nitrogen the plant gives many shoots without forming flowers. Verbena is also sensitive to an excess of moisture, loves an open sunny place, on which blooms especially violently.

Varieties of verbena that do not produce seeds are propagated by cuttings. In the same way, propagate verbena for growing indoors during the cold season. In winter, the plants from which the cuttings are taken should be stored at a temperature of 10 degrees. In February or March, the tops are cut from the plant with 4-6 pairs of leaves. From the shoot remove all the leaves, except the uppermost. Root cuttings are recommended in perlite, sand or in a mixture of peat and sand. Escape the cover with a film.

Growing verbena in the room is not very common, but the flowering of verbena in well-lit places of the building is not so rare as the flowers of the sanseur. To do this, near the window put a large wide tubs, providing the plant with the necessary temperature and regular watering.

Everyone wants to grow bright, unpretentious flowers in his dacha. Verbena will be the best solution for all lovers of summer and rich colors.
