How to fasten the lining: features and varieties

It's no secret that repair materials are always chosen depending on the type of finish. Even such a simple option, as a ceiling lining with a lining, provides many options. Before you figure out how to properly fasten the lining, you need to understand what, in general, it is from itself. It is a molded product for which various materials can be used. As a rule, it is equipped with a groove-comb combining system and eventually forms a practically monolithic shield.

Materials

In the vast majority of cases, the lining is made of plastic, fiberboard or natural wood. The last option is considered to be the most popular. You can use different types of wood, but preference is given to pine and linden. Therefore, before you learn how to fasten the lining, you will have to make a choice between these two breeds. Pine is used mainly in private houses and cottages, the linden is also perfect for rooms with high temperatures: baths, saunas, steam rooms. The explanation is quite simple: the linden, unlike the pine, does not contain resin and, accordingly, does not become sticky when heated.

Features of each variety

In order to explain how to fasten the lining, you need to know the characteristics of each of its kind. Plastic lining can be both seamless and with a seamed seam (this species looks exactly like wood - you can pick up any color range). As already noted above, the lining can be made of fiberboard. For its production, the method of pressing wood can be applied. The sizes of this variety are standard, the color scale is unlimited. However, do not forget that the lining of the fiberboard should not be used in rooms with high humidity (for example, in the bathroom).

Ceiling technology

Want to know how to fix the lining on the ceiling? There is nothing easier. This process is carried out in two stages: the manufacture of the supporting frame and, in fact, the lining of its lining. Recall the basic rules for installing the frame. Before you make it, you should decide in which direction the lining will be fastened. Then it is necessary to make a marking, then an aluminum profile is fixed around the perimeter of the room with dowels and self-tapping screws. Now we have come very close to the question of how to fasten the lining.

If you chose MDF or wood, you should attach the slats to the ceiling, then close the joints with the walls with a skirting board. If your ceiling has a wooden frame, the fixing process is done in the reverse order: first - the plinth, then - the strips, and only after that - the elements of the finish. A plastic lining is attached to the frame by means of a stapler (i.e., self-tapping screws). In this case, the staple is driven into the inner wall of the groove. Wooden lining is fastened by means of small studs or screws (previously drilled holes). If you opted for MDF, buy short studs with big hats.

So, now you know how to fasten the billet, after making a special frame for it. In principle, this work does not differ from the installation of suspended ceilings.
