How our ancestors lived: a glance into history
There are many theories about how a man happened. How did our ancestors live? Who were they? There are a lot of questions, and the answers, unfortunately, are ambiguous. Well, let's try to figure out where the man came from, and how he lived in ancient times.
Theory of origin
- There are several theories about how man appeared: he is the creation of the cosmos, the being from another world;
- The creator of man is God, it was he who pawned everything that man has;
- Man emerged from the monkey, evolving and entering new stages of development.
Well, since most scientists still adhere to the third theory, because people are so similar in their structure to animals, we will analyze this version. How did the ancestors of man live in the deepest antiquity?
The first stage: parapitek
As you know, the ancestor of both humans and monkeys was parapithecus. If we say the approximate time of the existence of the parapita, these animals inhabited the Earth about thirty-five million years ago. Despite the fact that scientists know too little about such ancient mammals, there is ample evidence that the great apes are the evolved parapithecines.
The second stage: driopithecus
If you believe another unproven theory of human origin, then driopithecus is a descendant of the parapita. However, the exact fact is that driopithecus is the ancestor of man. How did our ancestors live? The exact time of the life of the diopyteka has not yet been established, but scientists say that they lived on Earth about eighteen million years ago. If we talk about the way of life, then, unlike the parapithecines who settled exclusively on trees, the diapithecines already settled not only at altitude, but also on the ground.
The third stage: australopithecines
Australopithecus is the direct ancestor of man. How did our ancestral Australopithecus live? It is established that the life of this ancient mammal originated about five million years ago. Australopithecines were more like a modern man by their habits: they quietly moved on their hind legs, they used the most primitive tools of labor and protection (sticks, stones, etc.). Unlike their predecessors, australopithecines ate not only berries, herbs and other vegetation, but also ate animal meat, as these very tools often served also for hunting. Despite the fact that the evolution was clearly moving forward, Australopithecus was more like a monkey than a human - a dense hairline, small proportions and average weight still distinguish them from the modern person.
Fourth stage: a man of skill
At this stage of evolution, the ancestor of man was no different from Australopithecus in appearance. Despite this, the man was skilled in that he could freely make tools, means for protection and hunting independently. All the products that this ancestor produced were made mostly of stone. Some scientists even tend to believe that in their development, a man of skill has reached the point where he tried to convey information to himself by using certain combinations of sounds. However, the theory that it was at this time already there were rudiments of speech, not proven.
The fifth stage: a person erect
How did our ancestor, who today we call a "righteous person", live? Evolution did not stand still, and now this mammal was very much like a modern man. In addition, already at this stage of development, a person could make sounds that served as specific signals. Hence, we can conclude that speech at this time was already, but it was inarticulate. At this stage, the human brain volume increased very strongly. Thanks to this, a skillful person worked no longer alone, but the work was collective. This human ancestor could hunt large animals, since hunting tools were already complex enough to kill a large beast.
Sixth stage: Neanderthal
For a very long time the theory that the Neanderthals were the direct ancestors of man was considered correct and was accepted by many scientists. However, studies have shown that the Neanderthals did not have any descendants, which means that the branch of this mammal was dead-end. Despite this, Neanderthals are very similar in their structure to modern man: a large brain, a lack of hair, a developed lower jaw (this indicates that the Neanderthals had a speech). Where did our "ancestors" live? Neanderthals lived in groups, arranging their homes on the banks of rivers, in caves and between rocks.
The last stage: a reasonable person
Scientists have proved that this species appeared 130 thousand years ago. External resemblance, brain structure, all skills - all this indicates that a reasonable person is our direct ancestor. It is at this stage of the revolution that people start their own growing of livelihoods, they settle not just in groups but families, they conduct their own household, keep their own farmyard and start researching new crop plants.
Slavs
How did our ancestors live Slavs? This is already a fully developed ancestor of modern man, which is characterized by division into racial groups. The ancestors of man, living in the Middle Ages, were mostly Slavs. In general, this race appeared in the Baltic lands, and soon because of its large numbers it spread throughout western Europe and northwestern Russia. In addition, the Slavs waged constant battles, differed by special techniques of possession of weapons and resistance in combat. Slavs are the ancestors of the Russian, German, Baltic and other peoples.
