How in the "Word" to impose text on the text without a picture?

The functionality of the Word program is quite wide. It allows you to draw up the document exactly as the user wants. One of the useful functions is text overlay. In the "Word" to achieve this effect is easy enough.

Why might I need an overlay?

Before learning how to place text on a text in Word, it is worth noting a number of tasks that require the performance of this function. One of the most popular is the use on the substrate of a document of certain words in order to clearly identify its feature, but it does not degrade readability. An example of such a document can be a sheet used as a sample, where the background has the inscription "SAMPLE".

With what help can I impose a text?

In order not to use the creation of special images for the background of each of the documents, it is enough to understand how to add text to the text using the program's tools.

You can implement the overlay with a background - in versions of Word 2012 and later, this function is located in the "Design" tab. Select the "Background" button in the "Page Background" panel, a menu will open containing a number of templates, as well as offering to create your own background type.

Choosing one of the proposed or creating its own substrate, the user can easily change it in the future work. In doing so, work with it, as with plain text - change the font, size and color of the text. If the substrate is superfluous, it can be deleted by selecting the item "Remove substrate" in the same menu.

It is worth noting that the background function allows you to use as background not only text, but also pictures that the program suggests to automatically discolor.

Features of the overlay in Word 2003 and 2007

The decision of the question of how to impose a text on the text, in the programs of the version 2007-2010, 2003 and earlier, has several differences. They are not essential - the result of the work is the same in all cases, but the way of creating the substrate is somewhat different. And in order not to seek additional information on how to add text to the text for each version in the Word, it is enough to get acquainted with the differences in the modern and old versions.

As described above, you can set the background in the "Page Background" group. But if in versions of 2010 and higher this item is in the contribution "Design", then in the version 2007-2010. It is located in the "Page Layout" section of the Quick Access Toolbar, and in 2003 in the "Format" menu. Otherwise, the process of creating an individual substrate is similar in all existing versions of the "Word".
