Hemorrhoids. How are they treated?

One of the most common diseases is hemorrhoids, especially common among workers in "sedentary" occupations. They suffer more than 10% of the adult population. But at the same time, hemorrhoids are a very intimate problem, and not everyone decides to contact her for help, trying to endure the symptoms.

Hemorrhoidal nodes exist for everyone. They are the folds of the mucosa of the anal canal, in which the venous vessels are located. Thus, with congestion of venous blood and excessive straining, their normal disposition is disturbed, and the hemorrhoidal nodes descend. But this is not all: the development of a violation of their blood supply, increase in size.

Clinically, hemorrhoids are manifested

- bleeding,

- pain in the anus,

- prolapse or protrusion of hemorrhoids, to which their infringement is sometimes attached.

Bleeding usually occurs after the act of defecation: drops of scarlet blood appear. Pain in hemorrhoids is caused by the knot infringement, its inflammation or thrombosis. When an acute attack develops, the hemorrhoids that have fallen out are infringed by spasm of the anal sphincter, their blood supply is disturbed, a pain syndrome arises, and they cease to self-correct. Here you need urgent help from a specialist.

Treatment of hemorrhoids is carried out with the help of conservative and operative methods. Most conservative methods are used, however, only 100% no relapse is achieved with surgical procedures.

Having found hemorrhoids at the first stages , treatment can be carried out conservatively. It is aimed at arresting inflammatory processes and changes, restoration of normal blood flow in the rectum, normalization of the stool. Local and general conservative treatment is performed.

As a local remedy, ointments, suppositories, sedentary baths, microclysters are used. They stop pain, inflammation and thrombosis, as well as bleeding. Pain eliminates medications that include local anesthetics. Thrombosis eliminates heparin, which prevents the formation of blood clots and promotes resorption of those that already exist. Preparations that have anti-inflammatory substances (hormonal or non-hormonal) in their composition, effectively remove itching, inflammation and swelling. If a severe pain syndrome occurs, a novocaine blockade of the anus is made.

Often, people who suffer from hemorrhoids have several symptoms at once. In such cases, it is necessary to use combination drugs that contain anti-inflammatory, analgesic and hemostatic components.

Warm sessile baths with the use of herbal infusions are good for hemorrhoids.

In women, the appearance or exacerbation of hemorrhoids occurs most often during pregnancy or during childbirth. This is due to the fact that the blood stagnates because of increased intra-abdominal pressure. The appearance of hemorrhoids can also initiate constipation, which often occurs in pregnant women because of the hypothinus of the rectum. Nearly half of women who have a history of hemorrhoids, after birth, hemorrhoidal nodes significantly increase.

If conservative therapy has proved ineffective, in outpatient settings in recent years, methods of treating hemorrhoids with minimally invasive techniques have been used. Of course, it is better not to allow the development of the disease to the stage in which surgical intervention remains the only possible way of treatment.

At the first manifestations of hemorrhoids it is necessary to apply without hesitation for help to a specialist and begin complex therapy.
