What is a mandala?

This element is a sacral symbol, an image carrying a schematic reflection of the essence of the universe. It is used in Buddhist and Hindu practice, in addition, such specimens could also be found earlier in other nations, for example among Indian tribes. In the latter, weaving was used for this element. The mandala, created in this way, personified the "eye of God" or, in other words, clairvoyance.

The Indian model has, according to the representatives of the Wichol tribe, special energy, and therefore, in order to fulfill this element, it is necessary to know the main traditional principles and foundations of the people. However, you can highlight some points, observing which you will get a pretty strong tool for fulfilling your desires by applying a weave. Mandala is not just an amulet or a charm, it has the property of attracting positive energy. Therefore, it is better to create it with any purpose or desire, at the same time one can be guided by the following principles:

  • Thread is better to use woolen, as they better hold the clutch and will slide off the sticks;
  • When choosing the colors of "raw materials" it is better to be guided by intuition, you need to think about your desire or dream and present a picture with your eyes closed;
  • To attract happiness, money it is considered that it is better to make a mandala "rye field", for luck and common good - "the sun", and so on, but it is better to approach this issue individually.

Technique of weaving

Weaving mandala for beginners can seem quite a difficult task, but in reality, everything is different. It is enough to learn the basic principles of this method of creating an amulet, be patient and with the necessary materials (scissors, thread, four sticks). The whole process can be reduced to the following points:

  1. Select the thread for the central square, fix the end of the center with two sticks, which must be deployed in such a way that a cross is obtained. Wrap several times in turns in different directions to make the structure stable.
  2. Now we need to make the main element (square), while the thread must be laid from above and make a revolution around each stick.
  3. To make the second similar design, here it is possible to use two colors.
  4. Connect the two elements using threads, the first one can be placed from the bottom. Connect them better than the rosette. It turns out, if to wind through two sticks, passing a rope from the wrong side.
  5. You can change the color and make another "socket" element. After that, we need to weave a square through one stick. At the same time, the thread goes below under that skewer, which is not grasped, and is placed on top of the one on which the turn is made.
  6. The last element is the "belt". In this case, each stick must be wrapped with a thread according to the basic principle: the rope is put on top and the turn is made from below. Thus, we should continue the weaving, the mandala must acquire a finished look.
  7. Secure the ends and trim the excess. Make a small loop so that you can hang the amulet on the wall.

Weaving the mandala out of threads is a process that is very exciting and useful, while the motor skills of the hands develop and creative abilities are revealed . Also, this work allows you to derive from the subconscious the problems and consequences of stressful situations. In general, this activity has a healing effect on the human psyche and helps to find a way out of a difficult situation.
