Hajokhskaya gorge (Kamennomostsky settlement): recreation, description, location and photo

Canyon of the Belaya River "Noise", Kamennomostsky Canyon, Hajokh Gorge - all these are names of the same place, known to every Adygeyan, and far beyond the boundaries of the republic, a constituent entity of the Southern District.

What is a gorge

The very word "gorge" refers to a narrow passage between high mountains or cliffs, and to a deep valley, which is completely occupied by rapids of the river. The shores are usually steep, often overhanging. Gutter has synonyms - canyon, passage, uzin, gorge, defile, diphelia. All these words mean something narrow, long, deep.

About a similar place Lermontov wrote "... and, deep beneath the blackness, like a crack, the dwelling of a snake, the radiant Daryal curled ...". Hajokhskaya gorge, like the Daryal canyon, was formed over the millennia not by the Terek, but by the Belaya River, the left-bank and the most powerful tributary of the Kuban.

Canyon Parameters

Conditionally, the entire gorge can be divided along the motor bridge over the gorge into two parts. In the first, the current is very turbulent, and in the second it calms down and gradually expands to 20-30 meters to the exit from the canyon, which is so narrow in the upper reaches (in some places its width narrows to 2-3 meters), which is barely visible from above. The canyon itself is quite deep - vertical walls reach 40 meters. Actually, the Hajokh grove is the final part of the Great Canyon of the same name, the starting point of which can serve as a Cossack stone that is not far off. The total length of the corridor, pierced in the rocks by the Belaya River, is 500 m, namely, the gorges - 400-m.

From the history of the gorge

Long ago, during the Russo-Caucasian War, these places were known for their fierce resistance to Russian troops. Aul Hadzhokh, whose defense was led by Shamil, did not give up very long, and as a result was completely destroyed.

In 1862, in its place, on the right bank of the canyon, appeared first Cossack defensive post, and in 1864 Cossacks from the Orenburg troops and the Stavropol province founded here the village of Kamennomostskaya. At home, new ones were being built, since it was forbidden for the Cossacks to occupy the not-ruined Circassian huts. Gradually, from 1873 to 1914, the village grew and became a village.

Pearl of Adygea

Now it is an urban village, on the southern edge of which is the famous dipholea, which is famous for its extraordinary magical beauty and powerful energy. Every guest of the republic is surely taken here. And the way to this fairy tale lies only through the village of Kamennomostsky (Adygea).

Tesnin is a real miracle of nature. And this is true, because, according to eyewitnesses, in this place a person enters a state of easy trance, and he is visited by thoughts and feelings, never experienced before. Since 1979, the gorge is a monument of nature of local significance. During floods (and water sometimes rises to 20 meters), it is impossible to stay in these places because of the rumbling of the stream that rushes.

Legends of the Gorge

These beautiful places are steeped in history. So, in the place where the canyon once divided into two sleeves, there is a round platform on the rocky ledge, which is called "Aminovskaya". The legend tells about the cruel customs of the abreks - Shamil's deputy Mohammed Amin (or Emin) dumped from this site into the abyss of guilty fighters. But there were times when they swam out, and then they were given life. And in the Soviet times, when there were no such strict prohibitions and fences, local boys earned (from every tourist in a ruble) jumping into the water from the bridge that nature designed, washing the unnecessary of the rock. The bridge for a long time was pedestrian, and the remains of it are visible to this day. Hajokh gorge has many miraculous stone figures and bas-reliefs, each of which has its name and legend.

The uniqueness of the canyon

All together - fairytale beauty, enchanting energy, history and legends about the wild mores of the highlanders, the exploits of local residents during the Second World War and the three-headed dragon that used to live here, attract tourists from many countries. The peculiarity of this place is also that in the entrance to it the gorge is not visible - all the beauty is at the bottom. You can admire it from special viewing areas located along the edge of the cliff.

Given the popularity of route number 30, the gorge is equipped with junctions, decorated with living corners. On the whole territory of the gorge there are three or two of them with bears, Masha and Timofei, one with waterfowl.

Tourist capital of Adygea

The village of Kamennomostsky, located in the Maykop district of Adygea in the foothills of the Caucasus, is at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. Its population is approaching 9 thousand. The village is fully equipped, it has all the necessary infrastructure, a good road that can be reached from Maikop by bus, and modern cottages. Hajokh is beautiful in all seasons, even in winter it is full of unusual charm. At the southern end of it, in front of the entrance to the defile is a stele with the inscription "Hajokhskaya Gap". Specificity of local places

Located in the valley, surrounded by mountain ranges, covered with mixed forests, providing healing air, filled with the smells of pine needles and alpine meadows, the village has a mild climate, and there are never mosquitoes or moths.

The charm of the village-garden is added by forests, sometimes dense, full of mushrooms, nuts and various berries, and crystal water originating on mountain glaciers. The gentle slopes of the gorge are covered with thickets of barberry, making them during the ripening period of the berries red, which adds an unspeakable charm to the landscape.

In an amazing, unique place is located the village of Kamennomostsky. Attractions in close proximity to it are impressive - waterfalls and caves, dolmens (ancient funerary and religious buildings made up of large stones) and canyons, alpine meadows and Cossack stone are the beauties of which numerous photographs are told.

Do not consider all the beauties

All the waterfalls of Rufabgo are beautiful, especially the "Bowl of Love", which has its own legend. It should be noted that for entering the "fairy tale" it is necessary to make a certain amount. But there is a charming gorge Mishoko not far from the motorway.

The entrance to it is easily accessible to people who do not possess the skills and skill of the inveterate tourists. And, most importantly, you can enjoy the beauties for free. Lago-Naki plateau (Lagonak Highlands, altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level) deserves special words, the glory of which was brought by the Alpine meadows, and the St. Michael's Athonite Monastery, surrounded by amazing gardens. The very mountain of Fiziabgo is penetrated through the passages and caves, in which the monks created a library and icon painting workshops. All this makes it possible for specialists to compare Physiabgo with the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

On the mountain there are remnants of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a beautiful observation deck on top, with which visitors admire the views of the surrounding mountains, fonts and springs with healing water. Hajokhskaya gorge is full of sights, of which one would like to mention the Sahrai waterfalls, the Ammonite Valley, the ancient Dakhovsky Bridge, the Labyrinth rock complex, which is located near the Gorny Children's Health Camp. In the most populated area there is a beautiful wooden church of Dmitry Solunsky.

The canyon is meandering, and behind every turn of tourists there are new unique beauties that you better see with your own eyes. To the services of travelers is a well-equipped tourist center "Gornaya", which is more than 60 years old. From here and from the village of Kamennomostsky there are routes to Mount Fisht and to the Guam gorge.
