In 1946 a forestry technical school began to function in Gomel. He trained specialists with secondary vocational education for the forestry and woodworking industries. Later, the school was renamed twice. This was first realized in 1958. Then the college was called a technical school for mechanical processing of wood. The second renaming was in 1960.
