Glasses with holes - to wait for the effect?

Perforating glasses, or glasses with holes, according to the manufacturers, are a training device for vision correction. It can correct both nearsightedness and farsightedness. Manufacturers also promise improved eyesight with astigmatism and asthenopia (chronic eye fatigue).

Myopia (myopia) occurs in humans when the eyeball is deformed, in which the light rays are focused not in the retina, but in front of it. The cause of this phenomenon is the weakening of the eye muscles that hold the apple. Hyperopia is a phenomenon in which the image of objects is formed behind the retina of the eye. Most often this is an age-related change. Astigmatism is a complex visual impairment, in which visual acuity is reduced both in the distance and in the vicinity.

Glasses for correcting vision with holes are at first glance sunglasses, but instead of lenses they have a plate with the smallest holes. Manufacturers argue that this is a new development, created on the basis of the application of the laws of optical physics (refraction, defragmentation, interference of light flux). For people who are not versed in physics and medicine, these phenomena look mysterious and not very clear. But to delve into the details no one offers. The principle of action of such glasses is based on the phenomenon of defragmentation of an object with a simultaneous increase in the depth of field, which causes the image to focus precisely on the retina, which improves vision. Yet this phenomenon is called the effect of the diaphragm ("peeping at the hole"). In addition, the effect on the eye muscles is reduced, which contributes to their relaxation.

Manufacturers promise that goggles with holes with the exact observance of instructions and using them for at least 30 minutes a day are able to return one hundred percent vision literally within a year. It is advised to start with 10 minutes. At first, a person experiences discomfort, but eventually gets used to it. In these glasses you can read, watch TV, work at a computer, do other work.

There is another opinion. Many experts believe that glasses with holes are a useless device. Since myopia is practically irreversible in itself, that is, without outside interference, one can not get rid of it, you can only stop the deterioration of vision. Hyperopia is easier to prevent, observing the visual regime and performing special exercises for the eyes. Astigmatism is most often an inborn visual defect, with proper treatment it can be disposed of, but myopia will still remain.

The study of American scientists who checked glasses with holes, made in the US, showed that this device is absolutely useless. It does not correct sight. In addition, as it turned out, this is not a modern development. Similar adaptations existed in the Middle Ages. But over time, the perforated plates were replaced with lenses, which is much more convenient, and the benefits are greater.

So even if the glasses in the hole and look very unusual, and seem to promise a miraculous healing, it is worth considering how this miracle is rational. Not everything that appears in advertising as advanced technology, it is.
