How do rack and pinion electric windows operate on VAZ 2107?

Regarding the principle of the operation of this device, the "Seven" in this respect practically does not differ from other models of the VAZ family and other foreign cars, where lifting mechanisms are used on the electric drive. And the power windows only work when the ignition is switched on in the car's system. If you remove the key from the ignition switch, the glass can only be raised.

What is most interesting, when the lift is up, the controller does not absorb energy from the battery at all, going into standby mode. If necessary, this unit automatically feeds the current to the ESP mechanism.

Also, the mentioned device monitors the operation of the reducer, namely, it monitors the number of its revolutions. Thanks to this, the battery practically does not lose energy in vain, and accordingly, the battery lasts longer charging.

By the way, some models of electric windows have a door closer controlling only two windows, and since the model VAZ 2107 is four-door, often drivers install controllers at once on all 4 windows. But again, it all depends on the specific model of the ESP.

Installation of window regulator on VAZ 2107 - preparation of tools

In the course of the work we will need such materials and instruments as:

1. Cross and minus screwdriver.
2. The socket wrench is 8 and 10 millimeters.
3. Painting Scotch.
4. A piece of metal wire about 100 centimeters long.

Getting Started

Having prepared all the necessary tools, firstly disconnect the mass on the battery. After the car has completely disconnected the power supply, dismantle the door and dismantle the old cable mechanism. In its place we establish a new one. Immediately need to make sure it is working. Checking that the cable is working, tighten the nuts of the mechanism and fix it with a wire. This is to ensure that during the installation the cable is not entangled. The wire does not bring any practical benefit to the window regulator, therefore, upon completion of the work, it can be removed. It should also be noted that the cable is installed according to the following algorithm: the upper part of the device goes to the lower roller, and the lower part to the upper roller.

How are the window regulators on the VAZ 2107 installed next? The upper roller will not be visible to us, therefore to put a cable on it, it is necessary to produce a whole series of painstaking works. First, an open loop is made at the top end of the cable. Further, it rises through the doorway to the upper roller, which is not yet available to us. In this case, to hook the roller, you need to move the loop several times in different directions, then tighten it. So you can qualitatively fix it in place.

At the next stage, the cable, which was successfully hooked onto the roller, is put on the bottom gear, and then on the side, adjusting the tension. Then the cable is attached to the glass. If the first starts to make a squeaking sound, you may have to adjust it again. In this case, the branches of the cable change places - the upper one is transferred downward, and the lower one is raised. As a result, the annoying creaking should go away.

At this stage, the installation of the window regulator on VAZ 2107 has been successfully completed. Now it's up to the little thing to do: tighten the nuts of the tension roller and the body, lubricate the cable and connections with lithol and re-assemble the door in the reverse order.
