Gangrene: Symptoms and Treatment

Gangrene, the symptoms and treatment of which will be discussed in this article, maimed many fates. A really unpleasant disease, from which people did not always know salvation. During the wars of past centuries, many soldiers returned home from battlefields without limbs, often not because they were so badly injured in the battle, but because they suffered this attack after being wounded. Of course, now amputation is not the best remedy for this disease, however, gangrene is still what can make even a brave person afraid .

What it is

With gangrene necrosis of tissues. Healthy tissues begin to decay after they have been damaged as a result of some kind of injury. The decomposition process is irreversible. It can be dry or wet type. Gangrene dry type occurs in the event that dead tissues do not have time to get infected by putrefactive parasites. With such gangrene, these cells dry out, and with gangrene they begin to rot.

Dead tissues are a very suitable place for the multiplication of all kinds of microorganisms, and this only contributes to the process of decay. As a result of the fact that the decay products that form in damaged areas sooner or later enter the body, a very strong poisoning from which not a single organ can escape will occur. Wet gangrene, the signs and causes of which were discussed above, begins to develop on the dead tissues of the internal organs in the presence of thrombosis of the largest human arteries.

Gangrene: symptoms

Symptoms should be known to everyone, since early diagnosis in this case will significantly facilitate the treatment. What can give yourself gangrene? The symptoms are as follows:

- a person begins to feel worse without special reasons;

- in the affected area there is nothing unreasonable pain;

- the pulse rate decreases;

- blood pressure drops;

- the body begins to break.

With dry gangrene, the patient is constantly experiencing severe ischemic pain in those places where the vessels are clogged. Skin on the affected limb pale at the very beginning of the disease, and a little later it becomes a marble shade. Over time, due to necrosis, the tissues become dry and compressed, and the affected area becomes cold to the touch, and the pulse through it is not probed.

Wet gangrene symptoms is as follows:

- the veins on the affected skin clearly protrude;

- dark red spots;

- the epidermis begins to flake off.

Also, it can be determined by the incredibly nasty and sickening smell that stands out in the process of rotting tissues. It is believed that those who have ever felt it, will never be forgotten in life.

Gangrene: treatment

Of course, treatment must begin at the very moment it was discovered. Since any delay can lead to the loss of a person's limb. At the heart of the treatment is the intake of special medications that can restore the efficiency of the immune system and the cardiovascular system. Also, drugs taken by patients can over time overcome the infection itself.

Treatment of it may well be carried out and an alternative method. The essence of it is that all gangrene-affected tissues are removed. Of course, this is unpleasant, but this method in some cases may be more effective than taking medications. Judge for yourself, a person starts taking medication, they can not overcome the infection, which at the time, while everyone was waiting for a wonderful result from the drugs, only increased. The more time passed, the more you have to delete. No one will argue with the fact that it is better to lose some flesh than a limb.
