How to wrap a shawarma

Many dishes of oriental cuisine are so fond of the inhabitants of our country that without them there is not a single lunch or dinner. And the first place in popularity on this list is shaurma.

Shaurma is a dish made from a flat cake stuffed with meat, whether it be a bird, beef or lamb, with the addition of a salad made from a wide variety of vegetables, sauces and spices. You can wrap it either in Arabian flat cake or in lavash. Lavash for shawarma is especially often used by sellers during its manufacture.

Today, shawarma can be enjoyed almost at every step, and in case of mistrust of street vendors, it can be cooked at home. To make it is not at all difficult, the main thing is to know how to wrap a shawarma. We will tell about this by means of this article.

Shaurma belongs to the category of such dishes, the demand for which is beyond doubt. Firstly, it is very tasty, secondly, nourishing, and thirdly, it is quite easy to prepare. However, some are deterred by the fact that it contains a significant amount of ingredients, which means a high caloric value of the dish. In fact, everything is not so scary, because you can cook a low-calorie shawarma without meat, mayonnaise and other harmful ingredients, and with the maximum amount of fresh salads. Although this option is not so tasty in comparison with the original recipe.

If you often wonder how many calories in shawarma, then you should know that the amount of calories in 100 grams of the product does not exceed 250. That is, without abusing this goodness, you can not do a bit of harm to your figure.

The principle of preparing shawarma is quite simple: a certain amount of meat (according to one's own taste) is taken, which is cut into small pieces, beaten, marinated and subsequently fried. A classic recipe involves cooking meat on an open fire, however, it can be fried in a conventional frying pan (albeit with a thick bottom). However, filling is not the most important thing in this snack. After all, not knowing how to wrap shaurma, you can not create the most famous dish, which will fully correspond to the original. Is it nice to eat shawarma, from which the whole filling strives to fall out?

Therefore, use our tips on how to wrap shaurma.

First, the pita bread for the dish must be fresh, otherwise you just will not be able to turn it neatly. Stale lavash will tear and break, as a result of which the entire filling can simply crawl out.

Secondly, for the whole filling to be inside the pita, you need to bend its lower edge, making just one turn, and then you can bend its sides to the middle.

And thirdly, it remains to curtail the lavash tubule.

Having fulfilled these simple rules, you can be sure that the shawarma of your own preparation does not "fall apart". As you know, any recommendations and advice are meaningless without practice. Let's try to cook this dish.

To prepare a classic version of shawarma, 500 grams of chicken fillet, a couple of sheets of lavash, 200 grams of cabbage and carrots, one piece of garlic and onions, tomato, cucumber, 200 grams of mayonnaise and to taste ketchup, salt, pepper and vegetable oil.

First, you should fry the chicken, cut into small pieces, in vegetable oil. Then make a salad: grate the carrots on a large grater, chop the cabbage, and cut the onions into half rings. Mix all the ingredients together, add salt, pepper and mix well again. To the resulting mixture add tomato and cucumber (cut into thin rings), as well as garlic and mayonnaise.

Next, take a sheet of pita bread, grease its middle with mayonnaise sauce (you can add ketchup) and lay out all the ingredients one by one: first the chicken, and then the salad. It remains only to wrap the shawarma and send it to be heated in a microwave oven.

Now you know how to cook and how to wrap shaurma. Enjoy your meal!
