Flowing water heater on the faucet - simplicity, convenience, reliability

To the benefits of civilization (elevator, hot water, sewage, central heating) a person gets used quickly. But what if, due to some circumstances, there are problems with hot water in the house? In this case it is advisable to purchase a flow-through water heater on the tap.

Heating of water in such a device occurs when it flows through a small container, in which there is a compact but powerful electric heater. The advantage of this device is that electricity is consumed only during its operation. The main characteristic that a running water heater has on the tap is the capacity, i.e. How much he will be able to give out water of a certain temperature for a specific period of time. It is measured in l / min (liters per minute). Naturally, the performance of this device is directly proportional to the initial temperature of the water flow at the inlet (which can vary from 5 to 20 о С) and the power of the heating element. A flowing electric water heater on the tap heats the water literally instantly. The way it should be warm is controlled by changing the head. The standard model usually provides two handles: to regulate the flow rate and set the desired temperature.

Depending on the power, these devices are divided into several energy classes. A flow-through water heater-nozzle on the tap, having a power of 3.5 kW or less, is the least functional option. It is usually installed only when the water temperature at the inlet is not lower than 18 ° C. More powerful options (the most common - 5 kW, less often - 7 kW) are able to cope with the flow even the coldest, and therefore they can be used year-round. By the way, on some models there is an electronic display showing the current temperature.

What is a running water heater on the faucet?

The structure includes:

  • A heating element. Usually it is a tubular electric heater (TEN) made of copper or steel.
  • Pressure switch. Does not allow the heating element to switch on in the absence of water.
  • Thermal sensor. When overheating is triggered by a trip.
  • Flow switch. It supplies power to the heating element when liquid flows through it.
  • Power switch.
  • The nozzle on the tap is spout. The presence of holes and a smaller diameter of the outlet spout create additional resistance to the water, which makes it possible to use the heating element more efficiently.

Any instantaneous water heater on the tap has the following features:

  • Compact dimensions, which greatly facilitates the installation of the device, its connection and further operation.
  • Local scope of use. It is usually only installed on one connection point.
  • Low sensitivity to the quality of water containing a small amount of salts.
  • Large power consumption and, accordingly, a large consumption of electricity.

What is important to know when installing a running water heater?

A flow-through water heater for a crane is an electrical appliance of high power, and therefore it is necessary to lay separate wiring and grounding during its installation. It is desirable that the specialist does this. The wiring in the room must be rated at least 30 amps.
