Fertilizer for a tomato: what are and how to carry out their feeding

Who has ever grown vegetable crops, knows: to get a delicious and juicy harvest, you need to work hard. Bidding for the cultivation of tomatoes, it is necessary to perform a lot of actions - from the preparation of seedlings and soil, to watering and baiting of plants. One of the main points is to choose the right fertilizer for a tomato. It is important to study when and how to introduce them.

Fertilizers for tomatoes at the initial stage

The first thing to achieve a good harvest is to take care of the seedlings. In order to ensure its high quality, it is necessary to use, in addition to fertilizers, magnetized or degassed water. It is good to water the collected rain, after rain or melted snow.

Growing seedlings without picks, by the method of pouring, fertilizer must be mixed with soil. It consists of phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium substances. 1 bucket is used 30 grams of the first, 10 grams of the second and 15 grams of the third substances listed above. Organic fertilizers for sprouts must be fermented. Conducting watering plants, it should be borne in mind that an abundant supply of liquid flushes useful substances and leads to seedling diseases.

Top dressing is carried out in two ways:

  • 14 days after the pick. Then, with an interval of half a month before planting seedlings. The last top dressing is performed 2 days before planting in the soil.
  • If the seedlings are grown without picking, then when the third formed leaf appears. The further interval is the same as in the first method.

The best and easiest top dressing are organic fertilizers for a tomato. Mullein or bird droppings are ideal for this. To prepare such a feeding, it is necessary to add fertilizers to the bucket of water (underfill to the top 5-10 cm), at the rate of 1: 2. Next, the container is left near the seedling for a couple of days for fermentation. When this process is finished and the contents of the bucket return to the original level, fertilizer can be used.

At the first feeding, fermented mullein is diluted with liquid 1: 7, litter - 1:12. With further fertilization, we need to make weaker doses. For example, for one part of the water, 5 portions of Mullein or litter in the ratio - 1:10. Before using such a fertilizer for a tomato, you need to add 10 liters of superphosphate in the amount of 10 g.

Consumption of additional fertilizer is as follows: 7 liters of composition per 1 m² of area. If the mixture has fallen on the leaves, then they must be rinsed, as they can form burns. Carrying out the top dressing for the third time, it is necessary to add potassium and phosphorus to the fertilizers for tomatoes. This is done in order to increase the cold resistance of crops.

Fertilizer for tomato after planting in soil

In the soil before planting in each well add 500-1000 g of compost or humus, 5 g of superphosphate and a handful of ash. To obtain a rich harvest, it is necessary to saturate the tomatoes with minerals in a timely manner. On average, 2 additional fertilizing is carried out from the moment of landing in the ground and before maturing the tomato. Introduce nutrients together with watering. The first fertilizing is carried out when the first bunch of culture begins to blossom mass. It consists of potassium sulfate and superphosphate 15 g each, and 10 liters of water. This fertilizer for a tomato is used at a rate of 5-6 liters per 1 m².

The second top dressing is performed when a significant part of the fruit begins to fill. The composition of the feeding is as follows: 50 g of ammonium sulphate, 10 liters of water and 15 g of superphosphate. The consumption of the mixture is the same as for the first top dressing.
