Plot

"Solomon Kane" - a film whose actors, embodying the director's idea on the screen, told the viewer the tragic story of an outstanding personality. According to the narrative, an international adventurer, a bloodthirsty and ferocious Puritan, taking part in the storming of the castle, meets the reaper of the devil himself. The creature, triumphantly, announces to Solomon that his soul is cursed. Trying to escape Hyena of Fiery, Kane gives all her savings to the church and lives as a hermit, trying to pardon her sins. But one day the abbot asks the hero to leave the cozy walls of the monastery, performing the order of the heavens. Raving in embarrassment from the prospects of Britain's roads, Kane meets the devout travelers - the Crowthorn family heading to America. But the neighborhood, along which the path of accidental companions is passing, is captured by the evil sorcerer, exterminating all life. Again, Solomon Kane will have to take up arms. The main actor of the movie positions his character as a complex unique nature, demonstrating the multifaceted nature of the character at every opportunity.

Bassett and the playwright-script writer Robert E. Howard took from the latter only the image of the main character - a gloomy man in a hat and raincoat, impeccably possessing cold and firearms, vigilantly pursuing evil. The director basically tried to observe the conformity of the appearance of his movie hero and described by Howard Solomon, although the cinematic Kane turned out to be pleasantly similar to Van Helsing. It was portrayed on the screen by a graduate of one of the most prestigious theatrical schools in England, James Purefoy, shamelessly outwardly similar to Hugh Jackman. Handsome man perfectly coped with the task, appearing in all its glory in front of the viewer in the image of an insanely charismatic macho, stretching out on his luxurious shoulders the whole story. However, "Solomon Kane" is a film whose actors proved their professionalism and consistency in a dramatic career.

James Purefoy

The actor is really in his place. James has an impressive filmography, in which the viewer of the film "Resident Evil" and the series "Rome" are especially known to the viewer. But the actor deservedly considers the project "Solomon Kane" a benefit. To this role, he prepared very seriously, rereading all the stories of Robert Irwin Howard, trying to understand what the culture and life of the Puritans represented. After that, he began a tough physical training. For two months he got up very early and alternated classes in the gym with sword fighting and horse riding. For the preparatory and shooting periods, he lost 11 kilograms, but achieved what he wanted - it turned out a dry, muscular, wolfish image.

Fleming is rightfully considered a legend in the British film industry, his filmography exceeds 70 paintings. Jason is not only a professional, but also a very nice person, staying constantly in an excellent mood, which is very important for participating in such gloomy pictures.

The role of Meredith Crowthorne was performed by British actress and model Rachel Hurd-Wood. The girl, despite her young age, coped with her role, which does not require high-level acting skills.
