In the first case, fancoils with one heat exchanger are used, into which a hot or cold coolant enters. In the second case, there are already two heat exchangers. The bottom line is as follows: one (hot) from the central heating system, the other - the coolant from the chiller. Fancoils with a four-pipe system are better to install under the windows, since in the winter they work as central heating radiators. The advantages of this system are as follows:

1. This system has tremendous flexibility during the conditioning of a large number of apartments. In total, a large number of fan coil units can be connected to a single chiller, as well as air-conditioning units or main air-conditioning units. At the same time, consumers work independently of each other: they can turn on, turn off or change the operating mode.
2. It is possible to regulate the operating mode of each fan coil from a remote or built-in control panel. The console can be mounted on the wall of the room. You can also set a single thermal mode for the entire system.
3. The gradual increase in the capacity of the consumer makes it possible to put the facility into operation also gradually, so to speak, in separate stages.
4. The distance between the fan coil and the chiller is not limited, it is determined by the possibilities of thermal insulation of pipelines and the pumping station.

The most simple is the fan coil unit. It is mounted in a false ceiling. The air that leaves is distributed into four outgoing air ducts, which end with a diffuser or ceiling grille.

This can be seen in restaurants, cafes (maybe even on the wall). In the apartments with a two-pipe conditioning system, floor fans are installed.
