Fabulous and unique islands of Cuba

The island of Cuba is comfortably located between the two parts of the American continent and is washed from different sides by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. On the map, it looks like a small fish floating in vast waters.

The climate in Cuba is tropical and contradictory. Six months a year (from October to April) there is hot and dry, and the rest of the time the territory of the island is flooded with rain. The change in temperature in winter and summer is insignificant. On average, within a year, its value ranges from 25-26 degrees. But Cuba is not alone in the vast sea. On all sides it is surrounded by many small islands of different sizes. There are about 1600 of them.

Island state

The largest of them - Juventud - is located on the southern coast in the Caribbean Sea. All the islands of Cuba belong to one state. Some of them are collected in whole groups (Great Antilles) and archipelagos (Sabana, Camagüey, Los Canarreos, Jardines de la Reina). All of them are scattered like beads along the coast. The largest and most famous islands of Cuba are Cayo Rosario, Cayo Largo, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Grande, Cayo Breton and Cayo Anclitas. It is impossible to describe in simple words the beauty of these fabulous places. Each of them is unique in its own way. Take, for example, Cayo Largo. This secluded place on the south-west coast is amazing with its pristine beauty. Delicate white sand on the background of the emerald sea and slender palm trees on the shore near the water. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, where diving lovers can enjoy the beauty of the underwater world. Among the treacherous rock cliffs in the Middle Ages, many ships have found their last resting place, and until now treasure hunters do not lose hope of finding a treasure deep under the thick of silent water. The islands of Cuba are famous for their reserves. In one of them on the island of Cayo Coco there is a population of about 30 thousand flamingos. Even the most beautiful beach is named after them. The island is very unusual. It is connected to the central coast of Cuba by an artificial bulk road. There are mainly recreation places for those who want to be alone with the virgin nature for a while. But you can always change your mind and return to your old life, full of noise from the cars and the roar of big cities. Some of the islands of Cuba are linked. So, with Cayo Coco on an artificial dam it's easy to get to Cayo Guillermo. Only 20 kilometers - and before the eyes of vacationers there is a small land area, 80 percent covered with green palm groves. Here lives a lot of rare birds and animals, and from the water of travelers joyfully greet flocks of merry dolphins. This place is more like heaven on earth than a regular resort.

Business card

The country for many centuries of its history has undergone many wars, suffered several revolutions and eventually turned into an independent island of freedom. Cuba is now a country with a developed economy. The main source of income of the state, a product that made him famous throughout the world, is tobacco. Cuban cigars are very popular among wealthy smokers of many countries. Pleasure is not cheap, but the quality of the product is fully in line with its price. The capital of tobacco in the country can rightfully be considered a small town of Pinar del Rio. Most of its inhabitants are working on plantations. This work requires skill, diligence and great patience. The prepared raw materials are sent to the factories, where the efforts of specialists turn into fragrant thick cigars. In the Republic of Cuba, the ban on smoking is not at all relevant. For smokers there are even special hotels, where experienced "tobacco" are able to pick up lodgers for all tastes.

Rest on a choice

A lot of tourists want to spend their holidays on the islands of Cuba. "Caribbean Pearl" attracts with its beauty and versatility. The most famous resort is Varadero. This place is famous for its chic beaches. To the services of tourists here is not only the clear sea and snow-white sand. Cafes, bars, restaurants, entertainment centers - all for long-awaited vacationers. After all, the income from tourism is the main component of the state's profit. If you want a holiday and noisy fun, then it's better to go south, to the beautiful Santiago de Cuba. On the way from the airport through the whole country you can admire the endless reed fields and the unique beauty of tropical nature. The town is relatively small, but here everyone is welcome. Any tourist will be tasty and fed with the famous Cuban rum. History lovers should definitely visit the famous Trinidad. This ancient settlement of the Indians several centuries ago turned into a beautiful legendary city. Even his air is impregnated with antiquity. Here, unlike Varadero, there are no chic hotels. But staying in Cuba will be incomplete if you do not visit the town, which is recognized as a world heritage. Beautiful Cuba always welcomes visitors with open arms.
