Nikolay Maximov was born in the city of Yekaterinburg in 1957. First, the future businessman was looking for a place under the sun, wishing to enter a military flying school. The main activity during this period of Nikolai Maximov's life was the traveling work on various military units of Russia, where he was engaged in the system of checking the readiness of missiles. In parallel, the future businessman was trained at the evening department of the Sverdlovsk Mining University.

First Steps in Entrepreneurship

Money after graduation was not enough, so Maksimov, Nikolay Viktorovich decides to engage in underwork, namely, the cultivation of cucumbers at twenty-hundred square meters in Troitsk, Chelyabinsk region. Further in 1991 in Yekaterinburg the commodity exchange opens, after which Maksimov firmly decides on applying for a job as a broker. For a long time they did not respond to it, but still one Moscow firm offers him this post one time. At the same time, Nikolai Maksimov decides to open his own enterprise, which would deal with the trade in timber and paper. Next year, Nikolai begins to engage in the supply of scrap to "Uralelectromed." In 1992-1997, he was one of the high-ranking officials of the company Likonda, initially as deputy general director, and then directly took the position himself.

Opening of the metallurgical company

The next step is to buy stakes in three small factories in the Urals. In 1996, Maksimov acquired the Revda Metallurgical Combine. In 1998, he opened his own company, Maxi-Group. It unified not only previously acquired plants, but also the company "Uralvtormet". The main type of its activity was the production of metallurgical products from ferrous metals. Net profit of "Maxi-Group" in 2005 amounted to 1.27 billion rubles. However, everything went not as smoothly as Maximov would have liked. By 2007, the entrepreneur had accumulated large debt obligations of $ 1.8 billion dollars of the United States of America. In this regard, Maximov decides to sell part of the company's shares. As for the conclusion of the deal, he negotiated with businessmen of Russia, whose business interests included the metallurgical industry, namely with Alexander Frolov, Alisher Usmanov and Alexei Mordashov. As a result of negotiations, the deal was not drawn up with them, but with the owner of Novolipetsk Steel Mill Vladimir Lisin, who received fifty percent of the shares. However, after three months after the sale, litigation begins. Maximov accused Lisin of incomplete payment of money for the transaction, Vladimir, on the contrary, argued that Nikolai Viktorovich violated the terms of the agreement.

Successful investment of funds

In 2009, Maximov took up the game on the stock exchange. His brokers were such companies as Renaissance Capital, VTB Bank, Troika Dialog, UralSib. In March of the same year, Maximov made unique investments. During the fall of quotations, Nikolai Viktorovich acquired shares of Sberbank, about 1.5 percent. Thus, an entrepreneur from all Russian businessmen became the largest private shareholder in the country's main state bank. On this success of Nicholas did not end.
