Enteritis: symptoms, clinical picture and appropriate treatment

Today, the diagnosis of enteritis will not surprise anyone, and the number of patients is increasing every year. What is the essence of this pathology, what kind of risk does it entail, and how to deal with it in time? But first things first. To begin with, we determine that enteritis is an infectious disease characterized by a systemic disturbance of intestinal digestion and absorption, which occurs with dystrophic and inflammatory changes in the small intestinal mucosa.

This pathology has many causes, but nevertheless, nutritional anomalies associated with poor-quality or spoiled food are fundamental, especially if it concerns fish and meat products, as well as fruits and vegetables. Simply put, the disease of enteritis, the symptoms of which are sometimes not that scary, but require immediate hospitalization, is characteristic of the digestive system. In addition, the human body, along with unwashed products can get pathogenic microbes that can cause its strong intoxication. Such pests are enterococcus, Escherichia coli, Proteus, and others.

Signs of enteritis may be similar to those of more serious intestinal diseases, such as cholera and typhoid fever. Some experts do not rule out the development of enteritis under the influence of high air temperature. Why? Simply drinking a lot on a sultry day promotes the intensive washing out of sodium salt from the body, which entails its dehydration and intensification of intestinal peristalsis. In addition, it is in the summer that there is an increased intake of carbohydrates, which cause fermentation in the intestine. All this ends with a diagnosis of enteritis, the symptoms of which are similar to usual poisoning, but lead to more fatal consequences.

Also, enteritis develops against the background of food allergies, that is, there is an increased reaction of the body to a certain food product, most often it is milk, eggs, preservatives and fruits. In some patients, the allergy is detected exclusively on medicines, but it is also considered a food category.

It is necessary to study in detail enteritis, the symptoms of which most often arise suddenly, but with shock force. It starts with a loss of appetite and a general malaise, but then sharp pains in the abdomen become worse, which gradually increase. There is also a disorder of the stool, with the feces mostly green, foamy and with a predominance of an acidic odor. The patient's temperature rises sharply, nausea and vomiting are observed, and mucus and bile are seen in the emetic feces, and you are constantly thirsty.

An acute form of pathology often occurs without relapse and is prone to prompt cure. Treatment of enteritis in humans lasts up to ten days in mild form, and in severe it can last for several weeks. Here everything depends not only on the severity of the disease, but also on the scheme of the chosen treatment.

In most cases, enteritis, the symptoms of which are already evident, often requires immediate hospitalization, but again everything depends on the form of the pathology. Definitely, it is necessary to clean the stomach with a 2% solution of soda drinking, and the first couple of days it is better to adhere to strict bed rest with plenty of drinking water. To influence the inflammatory process, sulfonamide preparations and antibiotics are often prescribed, which should be taken about a week. Also, a low-carbohydrate diet is recommended and a vitamin-mineral complex recommended for indications to strengthen immunity. In addition, general prevention of household items is required, which also applies to personal hygiene products.

If the enteritis is suspected, its symptoms should be eliminated as soon as possible in order to avoid the onset of the disease.
