Electrician's Day: holiday story

In Russia, there are a large number of holidays that are dedicated to people of a particular profession. This is Police Day, the Day of the Housing Worker, Day of the Fireman and so on. One such holiday is Electrician's Day, and now it will be discussed.

It is worth noting in advance that this holiday is in no way a day off. The Electrician's Day is celebrated on December 22. Interesting is the fact that this is almost the shortest light day for the whole year. Accordingly, it is on December 22 that the work of the power industry becomes more visible. By the way, the Energy Day is celebrated by all those who are somehow connected with the industry, which covers generation, transmission and further sale to consumers of thermal and electric energy.

Generally, it is commonly believed that Electrician's Day is a day of recognition of the merits of workers in this field. Merit in the field of maintaining the daily life of mankind and economic development.

Approved this holiday was still in the USSR. This happened in accordance with the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 23, 1966. What was the reason for the publication of such a decree? The famous plan for state electrification (GOELRO). Accepted this plan in 1920 during the eighth All-Russian Congress of Soviets. Most of all, the GOELRO plan was remembered by a simple inhabitant "Ilyich's bulb". Such equipment is used here and there in our time. "Ilyich's lamp" is a regular household light bulb, which is used without a plafond. This concept arose in the same 1920, when the leader of the world proletariat himself was present at the opening of a power station in the village Kashino. That was only the very beginning of the implementation of the GOELRO plan. Together with the power plant in Kashino, the construction of 30 power plants was planned throughout the country. Vladimir Ilyich planned the reconstruction of absolutely all branches of the national economy. To the pleasure of the leadership of the country the councils managed to fulfill the plan for the next 11 years. And after 15 years, by 1935, it was overfulfilled three times.

Returning directly to the holiday, you can recall one more significant date. On November 1, 1988, a state agency such as PVS issued a decree concerning the Day of the Power Engineer. In accordance with this decree, his celebration was postponed, now it was a day that fell on the third Sunday of December. But recently this decision was secretly canceled, and on December 22 it was again the Day of the Power Engineer. But at the same time, some organizations remained committed to the decree of the PVS.

In addition to the fact that on December 22 the Electrician's Day is celebrated in the Russian Federation, it is celebrated in some countries of the near abroad. They are Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Belarus.

As for such an aspect, as congratulations on the Day of the Power Engineer - most of them should be necessarily cheerful, fervent and interesting. By itself, such a holiday does not stand out particularly, but if you congratulate your acquaintance with a funny verse or an amusing parable, that's sure to be remembered.
