Doors in the interior. How to choose?

For those who are going to install brand new interior doors in the interior, manufacturers have prepared a lot of surprises. Of course, pleasant. For example, one can not but rejoice in the variety of door designs, ways of decorating them, the choice of materials,

All the doors in the interior are different in type of opening:

  1. Sweeps. The door system consists of a box and flaps, which are attached to hinges or fittings. Opens only forward or backward. Disadvantage - such doors in the interior require additional unoccupied space, through which the doors can move freely.
  2. Swinging. The structure is radically similar to the swinging doors. The most important difference is that the door leaf opens in both directions.

  3. Sliding. The flaps are fixed to the guide rails. To open such a door, you need to push it aside. Advantage - space saving. The disadvantage is that it is not possible to put furniture close to the wall next to such a door system.
  4. Doors-gormoshki. The essence of the design is the same as in sliding systems: the door leaf slides along the guide rail. The main feature is the unusual structure of the casement: it folds like a bellows in a harmonica.
  5. Pivoting and sliding. It is a combination of two designs: swinging and sliding. To open such a door, you need to pull it on yourself, then push it aside.

For the manufacture of doors the following types of materials are used:

  1. Tree. Visually luxurious, but having some shortcomings material. So, it can successfully fit into any interior, differ in its ecological purity, but in a room where the air humidity is increased or lowered, such doors swell or dry out.
  2. Plastic. The cheapest, but not very durable material. Such doors are not exposed to moisture, but are vulnerable to ultraviolet rays. A variety of options for external design - their "skate."
  3. Metal. A rather strong material that is resistant even to scratches and chips. Such doors can be "implemented" far from any interior, this, perhaps, is their main drawback.
  4. Glass. Such doors have a modern laconic appearance, but not in all interiors they can be present. And it's not in appearance, but in their inadequate strength. Therefore, if there are children in the house or the risk of getting a mechanical damage is high in the room, it is better not to install such structures. One of their main advantages is the possibility of applying a wide variety of magnificent decoration techniques.

Glass doors in the interior - this is the chic and beauty. The design of all-glass doors differs somewhat from the frame. For example, in the swinging versions the door box may be missing, and in the non-destructive ones other hardware is used (it does not cut into the sash, but clamps it).

Doors in the interior, in the construction of which glass is included, can be decorated with the following types of decoration techniques:

  • Photo printing;
  • Stained-glass windows;
  • Engraving;
  • Fusing;
  • sandblasting;
  • Painting with brushes and paints;
  • Application of toning;
  • Creating a mirror effect.

As you understand, the doors in the interior can be not only functionally useful, but also significantly transform the entire design of the room as a whole.
