Viscose is a natural fabric, but it is created in a synthetic way. The raw material for it is wood. One hundred cubic meters of raw material can get one hundred and fifty kilograms of viscose. To make a tree become a tissue, many operations are performed with it. Cellulose is ground, cooked in chemical formulations, until it becomes a viscous viscous paste resembling glue. By the way, the name of the material (viscum) is translated from Latin as glue. How does it turn into fiber? The welded mass is poured onto a mesh with tiny holes - a spinneret. Of these, under pressure, the mixture flows out with thousands of thin strings of thread. Strength of the filament is obtained in a special acid solution. Then they are dried and woven from them fabric. Viscose, the composition of which is not supplemented with special additives, is very similar to silk. But if the gloss is undesirable, matting substances are added to the cauldron with the solution where cellulose is brewed.

Properties of viscose cloth

By its qualities, matter is like cotton: it is soft to the touch, absorbs moisture well and quickly evaporates it. Viscose is a natural fabric that does not store static electricity in itself and, as they say, "breathes", that is, it is perfectly ventilated by air. The universality of the fiber lies in the fact that it can be shaped like any fabric. The thickening and tortuosity of the filaments will give viscose the appearance of flax and wool. It is often possible to find fabrics and yarn in which viscose yarn is supplemented with cotton, woolen, silk or linen fibers. This material is cheaper. In alliance with polyester viscose gains exceptional strength, with lycra - elasticity. The advantage of the fabric is also that the fiber is extremely easy to color. Paints can be added to the solution from which the yarns are obtained. Due to this, the colors of the fabric become bright, juicy and saturated.

What is sewed from viscose

Synthetic viscose is a natural fabric, which won at the beginning of the last century an undeniable victory over cotton in the production of lingerie. From viscose yarns weave magnificent fabrics: jacquard, satin, velvet. Very attractive is a knitted fabric, from which sew summer things, home and children's clothes. It has also spread in the production of towels, napkins, tablecloths, upholstery fabrics. Viscose (100% fabric), made exclusively of wood pulp, is successfully used for sewing thin dresses and stoles in Indian and Arabic style.

Care of things from viscose

On the label of the thing in which the cellulose fiber is present, viscose is indicated by the first two Latin letters VI. Wash such things should be carefully, at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. Squeeze - carefully, without twisting. Smooth the viscose product with an iron with moisturizing function or through a wet cloth in Silk mode.
