Diet in hypertension: prohibitions and restrictions

In addition, part of general restorative therapy is a properly selected daily diet, which significantly facilitates the general condition of hypertensive patients and does not provoke additional pressure jumps. There are certain categories of products that are completely excluded from the daily menu of patients with hypertension. So, you need to rid the body of coffee, cocoa and strong tea, that is, products with a predominance of caffeine in the composition. In addition, the use of spicy food, pickles, smoked products, preservatives and spices is not recommended.

The diet for hypertension also excludes fatty foods, that is, to acquire fatty varieties of fish, meat, as well as hard fats, fish oil and ice cream is not prudent. In the list of restrictions hit the good products and alcoholic beverages, also not provided in the menu of hypertension. So, what can you eat while you are diagnosed with Hypertension? The diet prescribes the inclusion in the daily menu of low-fat varieties of meat and fish, preferably in a boiled form. In addition, it is recommended that sour milk products and such crumbly porridges as buckwheat, oatmeal and millet. Soups predominantly vegetable and vegetarian, including cereals, dairy, fruit, and the first dishes containing low-fat varieties of meat should be consumed no more than twice a week. Also useful are fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as foods rich in magnesium, potassium and lipotropic elements.

Particular attention should be paid to the intake of potassium and magnesium in hypertension. As you know, potassium stimulates the activity of the heart muscle and productively eliminates excess fluid from the tissues, and magnesium, in turn, exerts a vasodilating effect on the vessels and contributes to the prevention of their spasms. That is why the diet for hypertension recommends the increased consumption of these trace elements, which are contained in many vegetables, fruits and natural juices.

Either way, proper nutrition, recommended hypertension, should be selected exclusively by a specialist individually in every clinical case.
