Development of communication facilities: from the telegraph to the global network

Communication is an inalienable element of the existence of modern human society. In our technologically advanced century, we simply can not imagine our life without telephones. But even a hundred years ago a man could not even dream of such a luxury.

Until the middle of the XIX century, the connection between Europe, Britain and America was established with the help of steamship mail. But since this means of communication did not allow the rapid receipt of news, the human mind began to think about a more perfect solution to the problem.

The development of communication equipment has gained new momentum with the discovery in Volta in 1800 of an electric battery. The first was the invention of an electrochemical telegraph, it was thanks to him that it became possible to transmit messages from two different ends in a few hours, or even minutes.

The inventor of the Semmering telegraph used gas, which was released as a result of the passage of current through the water (acidified) to transfer information . But the design was too complicated, it was simplified by Schweiger, but, nevertheless, messaging was too tedious process.

Besides, alas, such a telegraph could transmit only written messages, so the inventors began to think about a more perfect version of the device. Some attempts were made by the American physicist Pejem in 1837, but his invention only remotely resembled a telephone.

A new round of communications has been developed thanks to Reis's phone. He made about ten devices that could already partially transmit human speech, as well as music, but there was too much noise. The signal was often muted, and at times it was very difficult to make out what exactly was being said at the other end.

His contribution to the development of communications was made by Alexander Bell, who began to design a new phone. Together with his assistant, the inventor achieved his goal and was able to make an apparatus that more or less distinctly began to transmit the speech. But, unfortunately, the sound quality in such devices depended on the distance, the farther away - the worse the audibility.

Over time, the phone improved. The development of this device worked Russian Baron Schilling, the Englishman William Cook, the inventor from Germany Steingel and many others. Before the phone acquired its present appearance, it passed many tests. The twenty-first century was marked by the appearance of wireless communication devices, namely mobile phones, which perfectly convey all sounds without any delay.

No less important in the development of communication equipment is the invention of television communications and photovoltaics. It was with the help of these tools that video signals began to be transmitted. Initially, these were primitive sound transmitters and video, which later evolved into color television. In the original version, the choice of programs and channels was small, but each year their number increases at times.

But the classification of communication channels will be incomplete, if not to recall the most global communication system, namely the Internet. Now we no longer imagine our life without it. After all, it is thanks to him that you can easily learn all the news, be aware of events, pay for services, control virtually all aspects of your life.

But the global network plays a decisive role in facilitating communication between people. After being thousands of kilometers away from each other, people can easily exchange photos, video and audio materials. See each other on-line, communicate in real time, without delay and delays.

A person every year comes up with more and more new devices, modernizing existing ones and creating absolutely unique ones. Progress does not stand still, which means that the development of communication facilities will not stop.
