The cosmos is far for ordinary inhabitants. This huge space people have tried to conquer for many years. Secret technologies and fuel were developed, so that, at last, one day one can get out into its open space. Everyone knows Yuri Gagarin, the Strelka dog with Belka and, of course, Vladimir Georgievich Titov - the Soviet and Russian astronaut. This is a great man who will remain not only in Russian, but also in world history.

Vladimir Titov: biography and family

He was born at the very beginning of the year one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven, the first of January. His father, Georgy Vasilievich, participated in the Great Patriotic War, passed it and received the rank of colonel. He always taught his son courage, fortitude. His efforts were not for the boy's gift.

Vladimir Titov after the end of ten classes decided to enter the Higher Aviation School of the city of Chernigov. He wanted to stay where he was born, not to leave his family. Upon termination of this school in the seventieth year of Titov has received a specialty not only the pilot, but also the engineer. Then he entered the University of Marxism-Leninism for evening training and successfully graduated in the seventy-fourth.

The qualification of the combat management officer Titov Vladimir Georgievich was awarded with honors at the correspondence department of the VVA named after Gagarin. This was in 1897.

Here is an extensive educational biography for Soviet times. Vladimir Titov was in the cosmonaut detachment already from the seventy-sixth year, combining training and studies. He passed the entire course of general space training. At these courses he was taught flights on such spaceships as Mir and Salyut.

The first flight of Titov

In the year one thousand nine hundred and eighty-three, Titov Vladimir Georgievich made his long-awaited first flight. The astronaut flew into the vast expanses with flight engineer Strekalov and explorer-astronaut Sergei. Passed this flight on the twentieth of April. Vladimir Titov Was commander of this detachment and the Soyuz T-8 spacecraft.

During the flight it was planned to dock their ship with an orbital complex, and on its board to produce scientific, medical, biological and technical studies. But the Control Center decided to cancel the docking, as there were significant deviations in the course of approaching the Salyut-7 complex.

Dangerous start

In September, Titov and Strekalov were preparing for the next flight, everything went fine, no one expected any surprises, much less a possible disaster. A few seconds before the ship had to rush through the sky at an incredible speed, there was a fire in the launch vehicle. The emergency rescue system worked instantly, saving the life of two cosmonauts. The apparatus with the people descended not far from the starting field. This flight could become a real tragedy for the entire Soviet Union.

Year in orbit

After the failed start, Vladimir Titov waited for the flight for four years. The astronaut began his second journey to the stars on the twenty-first day of December, eighty-seven. He was appointed commander of the ship Soyuz TM-4. Vladimir Titov, cosmonaut Monarov and explorer Levchenko went into space to dock with the Mir complex. Titov led a scientific expedition in this complex, which was already the third in a row. During the stay in the complex, a large-scale work was carried out on experiments and observations, and the reception of visiting expeditions was carried out. Vladimir Titov during his stay at the station three times went into open space.

In November of the eighty-eighth year, Mir received the French crew on its board. For three weeks the cosmonauts worked together, but it's time to return to Earth. So Titov and Monarov set the world's first record of being in space in a near-earth orbit. The interval from the moment of launch to the time of returning to Earth was three hundred and sixty-five days, twenty-two hours, thirty-eight minutes and fifty-seven seconds. The cosmonauts returned home too on the twenty-first of December, as they had started.

Hero of the Soviet Union

In the Soviet Union appeared a new hero - Vladimir Georgievich Titov. The achievements of this astronaut for a long stay in space were taken into account and awarded the title of Hero. For the courage shown during the expedition, and the heroism of Titov was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal. These awards Vladimir earned with honest labor, risking his life and commanding the detachment.

Family status of Titov

While Titov had to leave the Earth for a whole year and go on an expedition into space, he already had a full-fledged family: Alexander's wife, a twelve-year-old daughter Marina and a two-year-old son, Yuri. Of course, my wife was saddened to learn that she had to part with her beloved husband for a year, but she was proud of him and his work. My daughter missed her father very much, she painted space ships, from the window of which her father waved. She imagined that he was in the sky, just above their house, and he constantly sees them. The family for Vladimir means a lot, he loves his wife and children. For them, he tries to be a hero not only in space, but also at home, an example for the son and pride for his daughter.

Vladimir Titov very much regrets that his father did not see his flights and achievements, he could not rejoice over his son. George Titov died long before his son's first flight, in the sixty-first year. Vladimir says that everything that he managed to achieve in life and cosmonautics is the merit of his father, his correct education of his son. Papa for George has always been an example. Even as a young boy, Vladimir liked to consider his father's military photos. He said that when he grows up, he will also be a hero and become a colonel.

Mother also always supported her beloved son. She gave him all the warmth and kindness, teaching the child honesty and order. Vladimir supported his mother after his father's death, was next to her in the most sad moments. When the son was awarded for the flight and heroism shown during the expedition, the mother could not hold back tears of joy and pride.

His wife also supported Vladimir all the time, was tolerant of his frequent and long absences, and was waiting home from work. She supported Vladimir, when he suddenly had failures, experienced and did not sleep at night, while her husband was in space.

Subsequent flights

After his grandiose one-year stay in orbit, Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Titov waited again for many years. The biography of his flights became rich after the collapse of the Union. In the ninety-second year, Titov began to prepare for a flight on an American spacecraft on an international program. This training took place in the center of NASA, in Texas, again far from home.

The third flight was not very long, it took place from the third to the eleventh of November ninety-fifth year. At this point, Vladimir Titov has not been in space for more than seven years. He went as a specialist in shuttle missions. According to the planned program, they successfully approached the Mir complex and reached a distance of only ten meters.

The next, fourth flight, Vladimir Titov made on the shuttle in late September ninety-seven. The plans were to dock with the Mir complex, and they successfully completed it. On October 1, Titov went into open space from the side of the shuttle.

On August 20 ninety-eight, Colonel Georgy Titov resigned. But he did not sit in the rocking chair, meeting old age, but went to work for the benefit of cosmonautics on. After Titov resigned from the detachment and from the army, he went to work as a manager in the management of programs for piloting. Since the ninety-ninth year he has been appointed director of a large international space company in the CIS and Russia.
