Concentration camp Auschwitz - the most inhuman place on Earth

The Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Brzezinka (Auschwitz-Birkenau), located in the south of Poland, was decided to remain untouched as a place of sorrow for the whole world. On the territory of the infamous concentration camp, where "racially and biologically alien" elements - Jews, Gypsies, representatives of many other peoples were subjected to merciless total destruction, a museum complex dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Nazi regime operates.

The exact number of people tortured, shot, poisoned in gas chambers, died of hunger, disease, overwork, or as a result of the painful medical experiments of Dr. Josef Mengele, is not established, since at the approach of the Soviet troops the documentation of the concentration camp was destroyed, and most of the prisoners were driven by West into a death march. According to most researchers, in 1941 - 1945 in the largest Nazi extermination camp killed about 1.3 million people

The location of the concentration camp was chosen a small Polish city of Auschwitz, renamed Auschwitz. The town had a good railway connection, allowing to send here a huge number of people from all over Europe. The dear death for hundreds of thousands of innocent people was the railway branch leading to the concentration camp of Auschwitz (photo below).

In April 1940, Rudolf Hess ordered the creation of an extermination camp by order of the Führer. At the same time, the concentration camp of Auschwitz received the first prisoners - Poles, who became forced builders. About a year later, according to Himmler's decree, the construction of the second section of the extermination camp (Birkenau or Auschwitz II) began. Here the most inhuman and degrading conditions of stay were created by the efforts of the demons of National Socialism, there were terrible instruments of mass extermination of people - gas chambers and crematorium.

Soon the concentration camp of Auschwitz was replenished with the third section - a complex of forced labor camps (Auschwitz III). It was in Auschwitz on the gallows that the commandant of the camp Hess, the leader of the daily annihilation of people, was destined to say goodbye to life. But before that, he became a participant in the Nuremberg trial, where he told the world about the superior possibility of human understanding, the sophisticated technique of mass murder carried out in the largest of all known camps.

It is difficult to determine what feelings among the visitors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum are caused by such gloomy exhibits: the cast-iron inscription on Arswit macht frei on Auschwitz - the cynical slogan "Work makes it free"; A four-meter high fence made of barbed wire, through which a current was launched; Block number 10 - the place where Nazi doctors-fanatics conducted experiments on people; "Executive wall", in which prisoners were shot; crematorium; Barracks. After all, the concentration camp of Auschwitz is not only a place where human values were violated under the influence of an insane idea.

The prisoners of the monstrous death camp managed to resist and escape. These barracks witnessed the upsurge of the human spirit and self-sacrifice, when one prisoner gave his life for another or selflessly groomed for a weakened, doomed, comrade.

Auschwitz-Birkenau is not only a monument to the triumph of the victims over the executioners, but also a very serious warning to humanity.
