Chuni with your own hands: patterns, sewing, decoration

The funny word "chuni" means a very primitive thing - soft boots. About the origin of the name of this kind of footwear, historians argue: the chunks were worn all over Russia by peasants and boyars, workers and the intelligentsia.

Stitching your own hands is not difficult. Such boots can become a favorite home footwear or an original gift to a loved one.

A bit of history

All nationalities differ from each other even in the sphere of external attributes such as, for example, shoes. A competent historian at a glance can determine where a particular pair of shoes and boots came from.

Chuni - a feature of the wardrobe of the poorer layers of society of old Russia. Originally it was woven shoes - from hemp, bast. In different regions it was called differently, but it does not change the essence of this - short shoes that protect feet from cold and dust, but not from water and snow.

Initially, the chunks were sewed from the remains of cloth and cotton wool, thus obtaining shoes of different heights and shapes - from slippers to boots to the knee. Over time, the chunks began to be made of sheepskin or fur. Above them rubber rubber shoes were put on, to protect them from moisture. The shoes turned out to be warm, dry, comfortable.

In some northern nationalities sewn shunts are considered national footwear. For example, Ugri, which became a world-famous brand, in fact are the shades of the nationalities of the Scandinavian countries. To sew sticks with your own hands, patterns can be used in a variety of ways - ready-made or designed by yourself at specified sizes.

Stage of construction

In fact, the design and manufacture of shoes - this is a real skill, requiring many years of experience, vast knowledge. After all, the mood and well-being largely depend on comfort. If the shoes, boots are uncomfortable, press or rub your foot, then you can not talk about a good mood.

Soft room boots are quite another matter. It's easy to sew a shade with your own hands. Patterns of such shoes for children and adults can be used ready, and you can build yourself without fear of making mistakes, since there is nothing complicated in this process. Sew such shoes can be made from any material.

In order to independently build a scheme for sewing home shoes, you need dimensions. The easiest way to remove them is by placing your foot on a sheet of paper on a hard surface and circling the contours with a pencil. This is just the basis. Now the scheme should be leveled, adding 1.0-1.5 centimeters on the contour. The outline of the sole was obtained.

To build the top of the boot, you need a tailor's centimeter. They need to measure:

  • The volume of the foot in the bone region of the thumb,
  • The volume of the foot in the ascent to the highest point,
  • The volume of the foot in the ankle,
  • Height from the floor to the ankle.

Also a flexible centimeter you need to measure the length of the contour obtained on the pattern of the foot. The base of the top of the chunk is half the length of the pattern of the foot. Up to measure the height from the floor to the ankle and lay half of the ankle. Then from the bottom edge, put up half the volume of the foot in the lifting and in the place of the stone also upwards - 1/2 of the measured volume. Should be such a detail, which is also aligned along the contour by 1.0-1.5 centimeters, except for the sole line.

The process of patterning

To sew comfortable hoses with their own hands, the patterns of each part must be appropriate to the size. It is best to cut and sew a sampling probe from a simple material in accordance with the executed schemes. If the leg is free to pass into the boot, it will not stretch anywhere and warp, but will be comfortable, then the pattern is made correctly and you can proceed to the basic cut.

The pattern of hoods made of fur will be performed in the same way as the pattern of a quilted boot made of quilted material. If the chunks are double - the upper part should be slightly larger than the inner one. The increase in the pattern will depend on the thickness of the outer material. For example, for sewing fleece boots the pattern can be increased by only 3 mm along the contour. One boot will require 1 piece of sole and two details of the upper part. When cutting it is necessary to add 5-7 millimeters to the seam.

The pattern of the top of the indoor boots can be made in different ways, for example, such.

Here on the large detail of the upper part a small heel is marked on the right with a heel. The line repeats the contours of the track with the extension to the height of the foot. The assembly of the chunk is indicated schematically in the figure.

Fur and sheepskin - the rules of sewing

Pattern of a sheepskin choke is a simple matter. Sheepskin - a universal material for sewing such a piece of wardrobe, as home boots. Such shoes will keep warm in winter and do not let your feet sweat in the summer. Suitable for adults and kids who are just learning to walk. And room boots will always be useful to everyone.

Sheepskin tunnels are sewn most often manually with the help of a thick needle and strong threads with a seam to the outside. The seam, made beautifully with bright threads, will give the boots an elegant look.

When designing a fish hood, one thing should be taken into account: the nap on all the details must lie in one direction, for example, to the toe. If the seam is done on the wrong side, then it must be made flat, sewing to the main material with small stitches manually or by stitching it off. The same applies to double boots. The resulting double seam should not interfere with the sock and look gross.

Beauty is important

The quality pattern of the chuni with their own hands is the main thing, but equally important is that the home footwear is also smart, because it will create a mood. Chuni, from whatever material they are sewn, can be decorated in any way - from beads and braid to the story pictures embroidered with a cross. Make the decoration on top of the boot or on the outside. The inside of the foot is best not to decorate, as it is subjected to friction and the pattern will quickly deteriorate.
