Choosing salt for the dishwasher

Almost every modern dishwasher model currently does not work effectively without softening salt - a special chemical mixture that is used for water regeneration. The above-mentioned household appliances are equipped with tanks in which salt is placed for the dishwasher before washing dishes and cups. For units with large enough dimensions, two kilograms of salt usually fall asleep in such tanks, for smaller units the consumption of the chemical composition for the regeneration of water is one kilogram.

If you choose a softening salt for the dishwasher, you should take into account the fact that it should be placed in the machine after its installation and only before starting work. It is not recommended to fall asleep when the cycle is already completed or if the indicator signals that there is no chemical composition in the reservoir.

Remember that salt for a dishwasher should always be available, otherwise the lifetime of the above technique can be significantly reduced due to excessive water hardness.

In exceptional cases, food grade kitchen salt is allowed. In some models, before you fill in the salt for dishwashers, you should make sure that there are no foreign impurities. To enhance the purification of salt, it can be dissolved in hot water and evaporated on low heat. After that, it remains to collect all the crystals, dry them and put them in the machine. However, if during evaporation you find that the solution has become cloudy, besides it can not be defended, then it is not recommended to use such a chemical compound to soften the water. The reason is that such a shade of solution is given by substances that absorb moisture. Their concentration in the salt, as a rule, does not exceed the permissible value, so for human health they are harmless, but the dishwasher can fail as a result of their use. Transparent brine can not be used, even if your apartment has a built-in dishwasher.

It should also be taken into account that the dishwasher's salt in certain models is used not only to soften the water, but also to protect the resin regeneration system on which the active elements of the ion exchangers are "growing". In any case, the experts do not advise you to include the washing-up function without softening chemical compounds.

Many are also interested in the question of which dishwasher is better than the others to cope with washing dishes in conditions when the water has a sufficiently rigid structure. A single-valued answer to this question can not be given, and the cost of the machine does not matter here. Either way, but special chemicals will be needed to soften the water.

Many dishwashers are equipped with an option such as the consumption of tablets, which is very convenient and practical, since this parameter directly depends on the hardness of the water.

If you provide proper care to your dishwasher, then the period of its operation can be extended for many years, which means that you save money on the family budget.
