Chinese shoes sizes. Table of sizes of Chinese shoes
Every day, purchases through the Internet are becoming increasingly popular. Especially this applies to foreign online stores, where prices are not so great even with delivery, and the quality of goods is often much higher than domestic counterparts. However, many users are still afraid of buying shoes in this way. This is due to the difference in the adopted measurement systems in different countries, it is quite easy to make a mistake with the size here. Not every person knows, for example, how to translate the Chinese size of shoes into Russian, and in fact this country-producer occupies a leading position in the world market .
Measurement systems of different countries
In Russia, a metric measurement system has been adopted, which corresponds to ISO 3355-77 (international standard). This is very convenient, because you can determine the personal size by simple actions, without leaving home and without making an adjustment for the shape of the shoe.
The French (European) system is called the stihmassovoy, because for the measurement is taken a special unit - a halt, equal to 2/3 of a centimeter, which is approximately 6.7 mm. To determine the size of shoes on the French system, you need to measure the length of the insole (not the foot) in the calm. Chinese shoe sizes are defined in the same way as European ones.
The US size system is quite similar to the English one, while it is slightly more moved to zero - by 2.1 mm (about 1/12 inch).
On the one hand, the Chinese shoes are very similar to the European ones, but on the other - for some reason they always turn out to be small, and even if you correctly determined the number of your shoes on the table, no one can guarantee that you will get what you want.
Measuring the length of the foot by yourself
So, what do you need to do to know the size (metric) of your foot:
- Take a sheet of paper and a pencil;
- Put paper on the floor and step on it with your foot, stand flat, do not squat or bend your knees, otherwise the measurements will be wrong;
- Transfer the weight of the whole body to the supporting leg;
- Circle the outlines of the foot, tightly pressing the pencil to the foot and leaving no room for allowances;
- Using a ruler, measure the distance from the edge of the thumb to the heel in the most prominent places;
How to determine the fullness of the foot
Another parameter for the correct selection of shoes is the fullness of the foot (width). This criterion is indicated by manufacturers infrequently, since traditional shoes for daily wear are soft enough and eventually stretches (tramples). This parameter is especially important when buying hard shoes, such as ski boots or skates.
Chinese shoe sizes rarely have information on completeness, but practice shows that the vast majority of models made in the Middle Kingdom are designed for a rather narrow leg. If you own a fairly full leg, buy shoes with laces or velcro, this will allow you to adjust the width of the model.
In the Russian Federation, to indicate the width (completeness) of both men's and women's shoes, the numbering from 1 to 12 (4 mm interval) is accepted, the European graduation assumes values from 1 to 8 with a gap of 5 mm, and the United States and Great Britain prefer the letter designations from A Up to F every 5 mm.
P = 0.25 * 0 - 0.15 * A - A , where Π is the required completeness; About - the girth of your foot in mm; Length of foot in mm; A - a constant coefficient (for women - 16, for men - 17).
The result should be rounded to the nearest integer, observing the rules of mathematics: up to 5 mm - in the smaller side, more than 5 mm - in the large.
Some features
To correctly determine the metric size of your foot, you need to know some subtleties:
- Try to carry out measurements in the evening, as during the day the legs get tired, "trample down" and swell - the size becomes somewhat larger;
- Be sure to put on a thin socks, because it is unlikely you will wear new shoes on "bare feet", but do not overdo it - too thick sock can distort the measurement results in a larger direction;
- Chinese shoe sizes, like European ones, are calculated based on the length of the insole, so when you begin to outline the contour, keep the pencil strictly perpendicular, otherwise the measurements will be incorrect.
As you know, a person is asymmetrical, this can be easily confirmed by looking at his fingernails. On one arm, usually left, the nail plates are larger than the other. The same happens with all paired organs - ears, eyes, palms and, of course, stops, so measurements should be made on both legs, the correct result will be the right one.
Children's shoes
If the adult size is more or less clear, then with the children's shoes will have to tinker, especially when the sizes are Chinese. Shoes for children on the shelves of retail outlets can be met with an incredible amount, and in online stores and even more so.

It is important to remember that you should not buy shoes for your child "to grow" - firstly, it will definitely affect the formation of the foot and can result in flat feet, and secondly, the crumb will simply not be comfortable walking, and no one needs injuries and falls. It is enough to have a stock of a maximum of one size, so to say "on a warm sock."
