Avar theaters: about the theater, repertoire, premiere

Avar theaters are a very rare phenomenon. So much that there is only one in the whole world. It is a musical and drama theater in the city of Makhachkala. In his repertoire are classics, plays by contemporary authors and works by national playwrights.

About the theater

Avar theaters, as already mentioned above, are found in the world only in a single copy. Such a collective exists only in Makhachkala.

The Avar Music and Drama Theater was opened in 1935. It happened in the village of Khunzakh. In 1943, the troupe was transferred to the city of Buinaksk. Since 1951 the theater is named after Gamzat Tsadasa (Dagestan poet). In 1961, the specific character of the work of the collective changed. The theater became musical and dramatic. In 1968 the troupe was transferred to the city of Makhachkala.

In 2009, Kh. A. Abdulgapurov was appointed Artistic Director of the Theater. The director since 2013 is M. M. Magomedrasulov.

The troupe employs actors of different generations. The repertoire includes productions for both adults and children.

The theater goes on tour in different cities of Russia.

Recently the team solemnly celebrated its 80th anniversary. The celebration program was diverse. It was attended not only by theater artists, but also guests from other regions of Dagestan. The events took place in the form of a musical theatrical performance. Its name is "At the hearth of our ancestors".

Today the theater sets itself the task of keeping pace with the times, but at the same time honoring the best traditions of the theatrical art. The team has many new ideas and plans. He will continue to please his viewer with interesting projects.

Avar theaters were created to preserve the cultural heritage of the people. The musical and dramatic collective of Makhachkala has set such a task for itself throughout its existence. His repertoire includes works of national playwrights.

The season premiere

On April 18, 2016, the Avar Theater presented a new play. This is a play by the Dagestani playwright Shapi Kaziev. The title of the production is "Ancestor".

This is a comedy with a lot of different colorful characters. In the play there are dialogues, and fights, and dances of the goddesses of Ancient Greece.

The work reflects our life, although it is a perfect fiction. But people like his characters meet in reality.

Appeal to modern prose, and not to classics is a kind of risk that the Avar theater decided to allow itself. The new play was staged by the director Magomedarip Surkhatilov.
