Can I go to a solarium for pregnant women?

First of all, it should be noted that tanning is a protective reaction of the body to the influence of ultraviolet radiation. Solarium - a device in the construction of which there are lamps that carry ultraviolet radiation, which provokes the production of vitamin D and, as a result, darkening of the skin. The solarium has the advantage that it can be visited even in winter, and this reduces the risk of some acute respiratory and catarrhal diseases. But, as a rule, he is appointed only under the strict supervision of a doctor. Another positive quality of ultraviolet is the formation of vitamin D, which is so necessary to preserve the health of bones, muscles, teeth and hair. In addition, in a solarium (in comparison with the natural sun) it is practically impossible to get a burn. But is it so useful for women in an interesting situation? And whether it is possible for pregnant women to go to the solarium?

Influence of ultraviolet rays on the body of a pregnant woman

When pregnant in the body of a woman under the influence of a huge number of biochemical processes, a hormonal rearrangement occurs, which leads to an increased secretion of the melanin hormone responsible for the pigmentation of the epithelium and the hairline. In a pregnant woman, this is manifested by the formation of chloasma - dark spots on the surface of the skin. Chloasma is not dangerous for the body and after the birth it usually passes, as the work of all organs and systems of the body of a woman comes back to normal. But they are very sensitive to ultraviolet radiation (and with its excessive influence, it becomes more and more, which can lead to cancer, even if you visit the so-called turbo-solarium, which is considered more progressive). In addition, when visiting a pregnant woman, the solarium can begin to intensify the production of male sex hormones, which can cause severe harm to the future child or even lead to a miscarriage, which often becomes a decisive factor in answering the question of whether it is possible for pregnant women to go to the solarium. If a woman has problems with immunity, when visiting the solarium, she can further weaken the state of her body (due to its overheating), despite the fact that there is an opinion that the tanning cream can prevent excessive heating and so on. Therefore, sunbathing under the sun is recommended until 10:00 in the morning and after 17:00 in the evening, and it is better to refuse to visit the solarium at all, since the power of its lamps is not regulated at all. At sunburn there is a risk of overheating of the body not only of the pregnant woman, but also of the fetus inside her, as it is not yet able to regulate the sweating independently, and the woman in the position is more susceptible to the impact of everything that surrounds her. Already after these arguments the woman's thought about whether it is possible for pregnant women to go to a solarium should come to naught.

Thus, it is worth noting that visiting a tanning bed in a state of pregnancy will not bring any benefit to a pregnant woman or her future child. Even in spite of some of its merits, it is better to limit oneself to short stay in the sun in the morning or evening hours, or completely exclude pastime under the sun. Perhaps, thanks to this article, many girls (finally!) Will find the answer to the question of whether it is possible for pregnant women to go to a solarium.
