BMW 4: a group of ambitious newcomers

In the German premium car market, an exceptionally stubborn and tough struggle unfolds. The next move in it makes regulars of leadership positions - Bavarians, bringing to the market completely new sports cars - a new series of BMW 4. From cars of the third series beginners will differ the increased size and simultaneously grace. Manufacturers of this car plan to produce four with three body variants, namely: a two-door coupe, a five-door coupe, as well as a convertible.
The manufacturers plan to change the design and dimensions of the BMW 4 series cars in comparison with the initial third series. The coupe is extended by 3-4 centimeters, and its width is increased by 3 centimeters. Thus, BMW 4 catches up in size competitors. The wheelbase of the five-door coupe will be larger than that of the other representatives of the series.

If we talk about the exterior, the car is remembered by a wide hood, inside which are placed powerful engines, previously created for sports sedans. The front wings of BMW 4 will be equipped with air intakes. The configuration of the rear headlights will change, and the front will harmoniously touch the radiator grille of the vehicle.

On cars of this series will put a turbo engine with a volume of 2 liters with a capacity of 245 horsepower and a six-cylinder engine with a capacity of two liters with a capacity of 306 "horses." The range of diesel engines for BMW 4 varies in power from 143 to 258 horsepower. In the future, developers are going to bring to the car market a modification of the diesel engine, reinforced to about 290 "horses".
The manufacturer does not forget about hybrid devices, which can be recharged from a standard electrical network. The four hybrids will go on sale only in 2014 at the same time as the M-versions of all body types of the series. It is believed that the car series M4 will be equipped with a bioturbot engine, the power of which can reach 450 horsepower. This value is all the more impressive, because the weight of the car is significantly reduced due to the wide use of carbon-plastic and aluminum components.
Continuity of this series in relation to the third is noticeable in many respects. The predecessors borrowed devices that serve to control the marking and preventing collisions, a color indicator on the windshield, a panoramic camera. The management of the above functions will be carried out by the intelligent computer system BMW Connected Drive with infotainment and navigation capabilities, also come from the basic series. Part of the produced cars will have an active suspension. Also, the transport market will receive all-wheel drive cars.
But the price (sales) of representatives of the BMW 4 series will undoubtedly grow. Even the most standard coupe will cost the buyer more than three, or even four thousand euros, than the representative of the third series. Even more significant will be the break with the base series for fours with a convertible and a five-door coupe. This is not surprising, because the larger the number of the series, the higher the cost of the car itself becomes.
