Bill Ward: Biography and Creativity

Bill Ward is a drummer from Britain. Also is the author of songs. Best known as a member of the Black Sabbath group. He was born in Aston, in Birmingham, in 1948, on May 5.

Creation

Bill Ward in 1968 played in a team called Mythology. Together with him played guitarist Tony Iommi. In 1968, the musicians, together with vocalist Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Gieser Butler, created the band The Polka Tulk Blues Band. First it was renamed Earth. And in 1969 was named Black Sabbath. Our hero participated in the team until 1980. He left the band during the tour in support of Heaven and Hell. At the heart of this decision were personal reasons. In 1983, our hero participated in the band THE MEZMERIST. In addition to him, the band included vocalist Tommy Mezmercardo, as well as bass guitarist Roger Abercrombie. The group created an album with a total circulation of 500 copies.

Return

Soon Bill Ward rejoined Black Sabbath and recorded with the band an album called Born Again. However, he had health problems that forced him to leave the group again. Officially, he returned to Black Sabbath in 1984, in the summer. However, at that time the collective did not give concerts, nor did it record albums. In 1988, our hero performed in the Blue Thunder band with guitarist Walter Trout and bass player Tim Bogert. Until the full reunion of the original composition, the musician performed twice with Butler, Iommi and Osborne in the framework of Black Sabbath. The first time it happened in 1985 on Live Aid. The second was in the state of California in Costa Mesa. This was in the framework of the concert, which played Ozzy Osbourne in 1992, on November 15.

Classical composition

Bill Ward once again joined Black Sabbath in 1994 during the South American tour. In 1997, on December 4 and 5, concerts were given in Birmingham on the territory of the NEC stadium. These events were devoted to the revival of the Black Sabbath group in its classical composition. Records of these concerts were included in the album Reunion, which was published in 1998. Next year in May our hero again leaves the group. The cause was the problems of a musician with a heart. It was replaced by Vinny Appiche. Our hero returned to the collective in 1999. In 2006, there was information that the musician would join Ronnie James Dio, Gieser Butler and Tony Iommi in the upcoming concert tour. Ward rejected this proposal. He did not want to play with Dio. Again his place was taken by Appius. To avoid possible conflicts with Ward and Osborne, the group received the name Heaven & Hell. In 2012, in February, our hero left the team again. He said that he could not reach an agreement on his contract. As for Bill Ward's personal life, he has three children: Emily's daughter and two sons - Ward and Aron. Observes a vegetarian diet.

Discography

In 1970, took part in the work on the debut album Black Sabbath of the same name group. The work was recorded in 3 days. The album is recognized as a classic of heavy metal. From this work was created a single called Evil Woman. Bill Ward also worked on the 1970 Paranoid album. He was recorded in the London studio Regent Sound. The working title of the disc was War Pigs. He, however, had to give up. The recording company was frightened of a possible negative reaction in the US territory. At that time, the country was fighting in Vietnam. However, the anti-war sentiment was retained in the design of the plate. It was symbolized, in particular, by a photographic distorted image of a bearded man with a sword and a shield in his hands, which popped up from behind a tree. The main composition was written in the studio in just 25 minutes. Our hero notes that the team did not have enough new material for the album and Tony started playing the Paranoid guitar. As a result, it took a few minutes to record a song. Paranoid became a hit in Britain. In the US, a company called Vertigo Records created two singles. In the video clips, a video of the band's performances in the Beat Club was used. Also Bill Ward participated in recording many other albums, both within the specified group, and within the framework of other projects.
