In it, quartz grains of microscopic size are closely connected with chalcedony inclusions, "contaminated" with various impurities. The mineral can be green, red, white, purple, and also come across black stones. Jasper is found in the form of rocks of the same color, but more often it is variegated, striped elements or samples of ribbon or mottled color, which are covered by large layers. It is due to this color that the breed received its name in ancient times (Greek yaspis - "motley").

A beneficial effect on a man renders almost any stone jasper. The sign of the zodiac, which can be decorated with this mineral, is in every element (Water, Earth or Air).
