Where did the phrase "Guys, let's live together" went?

Many people ask themselves where the phrase "Guys, let's live together" went. She has long been a winged, but not all remember her author. It was invented by the screenwriter Arkady Hite, who created the cat Leopold. Let us recall a little about the life of this remarkable man.

Childhood

Arkady Hite was born in the Russian capital on December 25, 1938. His father was engineer Joseph Hight. Earlier he lived with his wife in Odessa, but shortly before the birth of his son, they moved to Moscow and settled in a spacious communal apartment. From his earliest childhood Arkady was surrounded by the care of many people: mother, father, brother, and neighbors. In an unremarkable communal house, a real talent was growing - a person who in the future will write a huge number of funny texts, scenarios for theatrical performances, stories for the TV channel "Wick", programs "Radio Monitor" and "Yeralash". Father Arkady loved to joke, but his humor was truly refined, although quite sharp. Thus, the boy developed a good taste from an early age, and in his character some vanity and obstinacy could be traced; These qualities later helped him become famous. Arkady, the youngest child in the family, did not want to be the last. If, for example, he once lost, he gave himself a firm promise that the next time this will not happen again. But the boy at the same time was very kind, and even then, apparently, at any quarrel with his friends, he repeated: "Guys, let's live together." Interestingly, the most successful brainchild of Arkady Hight was not the popular funny texts and monologues written for famous comedians, but the cartoon scenarios "Cat Leopold" and "Well, wait!".

Cooperation between Haight and Reznikov

In 1974, a historical event happened. Met Arkady Khayt and director Anatoly Reznikov. The latter was inspired by the dizzying success of "Well, wait!" And planned to create another cartoon. He had some thoughts about this, but he could not do anything on his own. Then Reznikov's friend Boris Saveliev (incidentally, a well-known composer), whom we know thanks to the "Radioni", arranged this momentous meeting. So the cat Leopold was created. "Guys, let's live together!" - soon these words were heard by millions of children.

The original intention

Reznikov told me that he and Hayth had a great idea - to make a plot-a flip-flop, where no cat would chase mice, but vice versa. Indeed, an excellent idea. Soon Reznikova visited the main idea, which was put in the basis of his brainchild: in any society and at any time the world should reign, and everyone is bound to strive for it. The authors thought how to show it on the screen, and soon decided that the cat would say: "Guys, let's live together!" This phrase is extremely simple, but how much in it is the sense!

Painstaking work

The first series was called "The Revenge of the Cat Leopold", and the second - "Leopold and the Goldfish", and they were created by the method of shifting. In other words, they cut out a lot of small elements and characters. Then these pictures were laid out on the glass and, slowly moving them, they achieved the effect of movement. All these works were aimed at teaching the children good. "Guys, let's live together," - should have sounded from the screen in every episode.

The prohibition of the cartoon, the resumption of work on it

In 1976, the initial series was demonstrated at the artistic council, after which they wanted to veto the cartoon. At that time the editor-in-chief of the commission was a certain Zhdanov, and she decided: the creation can be considered pacifist, pro-Chinese and anti-Soviet. She wondered why the cat had not killed the mice, but decided to make peace with them? She was also confused by the phrase "Guys, let's live together." However, at that time, work was already underway on the next series, titled "Leopold and the Goldfish", and it was nevertheless allowed to finish, and then even broadcast on the central television. By 1981, many letters of gratitude had accumulated - the audience was delighted. And the authors returned to their offspring, work began on new series.

And today, modern children are happy to watch this cartoon. "Guys, let's live together," they repeat after Leopold, and this can not but rejoice. Thanks to an intelligent cat, children begin to learn how to behave themselves from a small age. Parents should be happy that there is such a cartoon that helps children to develop in the right direction. This creation will never lose its relevance.
