'Atarax'. Instructions for use: brief description.

Anxious states and a sense of fear that periodically arise for no reason at first glance may seem completely harmless things that should not be given importance. However, it is not. In fact, even these seemingly innocuous states require careful treatment. In order to bring the state of health to normal in such cases, you can use "Atarax". The instruction on the use of this medicine will allow you to familiarize yourself with its mode of action and composition.

"Atarax" represents a group of drugs anxiolytics. And has antiemetic, sedative, antihistamine and antipruritic effect. This drug is produced in the form of oral tablets and a solution for injections. At the same time, irrespective of the form in which "Ataraks" is produced, the instruction for use is put into each of its packages. From this leaflet, the consumer can learn that this drug acts as a blocker of histamine H1 receptors and central m-cholinergic receptors. It also inhibits the activity of certain subcortical zones. It is important to note that "Atarax" is not capable of causing either mental dependence or addiction. The onset of the clinical effect of the drug occurs immediately, after 15-20 minutes.

"Atarax" improves cognitive abilities and memory, increases attention, relaxes smooth and skeletal muscles. In addition, the drug "Atarax" has analgesic and bronchodilating effects. The drug in moderate amounts has an inhibitory effect on gastric secretion.

There are several indications for the use of the drug "Atarax". Instructions for use include the following:

  • Relief of psychomotor agitation, anxiety, inner feelings of tension, excessive irritability in mental, somatic and neurological diseases, as well as the treatment of alcohol withdrawal syndrome, which is accompanied by psychomotor agitation;
  • Skin itching (symptomatic therapy).
  • In the form of a sedative with premedication.

However, the instructions for use with the "Atarax" preparation describe not only the indications, but also contraindications for the use of this drug:

  • Pregnancy and lactation;
  • Porphyria;
  • Marked sensitivity to the components of the drug;
  • Impaired absorption of glucose-galactose;
  • Intolerance to galactose, which is hereditary.

With extreme caution, it is necessary to take "Atarax" with myasthenia gravis, dementia, propensity to convulsions, increased intraocular pressure, prostatic hyperplasia with clinical manifestations. Careful use of this drug should be given to patients with hepatic impairment, as well as prone to arrhythmias.

At application of "Atarax" there can be some undesirable effects: weakness and lethargy, dry mouth and drowsiness, headache and dizziness, tachycardia and hypotension, allergic reactions, increased sweating, bronchospasm, nausea. Most often, side effects, if they arise, are weakly expressed and in most cases quickly pass. You can reduce the dose of taking the drug, in order to quickly get rid of its side effects. If this does not help, then the drug should be discontinued altogether, and then consult a doctor.

It is worth noting that "Ataraks" is not released from pharmacies without a prescription. This clearly indicates that it can not in any case be assigned to yourself, without a doctor. Any medicine may harm your health if you use it improperly and carelessly. Remember this and take care!
