An indifferent person is a phlegmatic

Psychology is a science full of secrets and understatement, and it is perhaps beyond the power of the ace in this matter to understand it in full. First of all, this is due to the fact that each person, no matter how many tests he passes, will still have some atypical features, deviations from the generally accepted classifications. That is why in this article we will try to reveal the meaning of the word "indifferent" most widely, to understand which persons it refers to, and how such people behave. Perhaps someone will find such a reflection in their relatives, friends, or even in themselves.

Many people do not even know that "indifferent" is a word that occurs in our lives almost every day. In a literal translation from Latin it sounds like indifference, indifference, well, and if expressed in psychological terms, it can be identified with apathy. Most often in this category fall phlegmatic people who prefer to calmly swim with the flow, not experiencing emotions and feelings, even in those moments when it would be worth doing it. An indifferent person is a person who can ignore the signal for help, not pay attention to the joy or sorrow of a loved one, and at the same time do not care about himself.

To ascertain whether a person is apathetic is possible by carefully watching him in a stressful situation. Famous psychologist Suzanne Miller has developed a test, which with certain accuracy will help to reveal such a feature of human behavior. It consists in the fact that it is necessary to imagine yourself in an airplane during an air vortex. Imagine that everything in the cabin rolls from side to side, the passengers are fastened to their seats, and the flight attendants are perplexed. What will be your reaction? Perhaps you will take on the role of an alarmist, and begin to address every minute to flight attendants, with questions about possible death? And maybe, you turn your back on everyone, and you'll carefully peer into the thunderclouds that are on the other side of the porthole? If you chose the second option, then indifferent - it's your psychotype.

However, such apathy can be either sluggish, or vice versa - judicious and rational. For example, a person sees that a fire has started, but the fire has not yet absorbed everything that is in the zone of its access. A man cold-blooded, calculating and at the same time indifferent this flame will quietly quench, taking in the right place a fire extinguisher. Emotional and impressionable people will rush about, click on help and panic simply because a fire has started.

As you can see, this interpretation of apathy has some varieties that depend purely on a particular person. It is believed that indifference - an excellent quality for a businessman, a politician or just a person who wants to achieve certain heights in life. After all, not always ambitions help us, more often they only harm, creating unnecessary quarrels and conflicts.

To understand what it means to be indifferent, apathetic or indifferent, in psychology it is possible only on an illustrative example. Carefully study the behavior of their loved ones, pay attention to yourself and, perhaps, these traits you can track in practice.
