EducationThe science

An entertaining science: how to spend at home a chemistry experience to interest a child?

In high school they start chemistry before the 8th grade, it is too difficult for this science to perceive children. But to prepare a schoolboy for the subject can be a very simple and boring way - by organizing the experience in chemistry at home. Such mini-experiments will help to look at science from the other side, and showing "chemical tricks" on a children's holiday will significantly increase the degree of fun.

Fireproof bill

To conduct an incredibly effective, but simple trick, you will need:

  • Bill;
  • A water-alcoholic solution with an alcohol content of about 50%;
  • salt;
  • Tweezers or tweezers.

A pinch of salt should be added to the solution. Next, a note is placed in the solution with the help of tweezers. Those who first conduct such experience in chemistry, it is better to take a note of lesser dignity!

After the money is thoroughly soaked, they should be picked up again with tweezers and lightly shaken off excess fluid from the paper. Now you can set fire! The fire will pass all over the bill, but no edge will even blanch. This is due to the burning of alcohol contained in the solution. In turn, the water, which has absorbed the paper, does not have time to evaporate.

Crystal Eggs

Growing crystals is one of the popular hobbies that entertaining chemistry offers. Experiments with crystallization are most often carried out on sugar, but no one surprises with sugar crystals. We offer a new and unusual spectacle - crystals grown on eggs!

Crystal eggs can be obtained with the help of:

  • Alum (sold at the pharmacy);
  • Glue PVA;
  • Dyes.

Crystals on eggs will grow very quickly, in just a day. It is necessary to wash the shell and dry it thoroughly. After that, eggs are smeared with glue and sprinkled with alum. Now they need to lie down for a few hours to dry out again.

Next, the dye must be dissolved in two glasses of plain water. The amount of dye can be chosen independently, in this case only the intensity of the color of the crystals depends on it. Eggs are placed in dye for a day or a day. The longer the egg lies in the solution, the larger the crystals grow. Giving ready-made crystal eggs is neat - they are fragile enough.

Balloon on the bottle

How can you inflate a ball without helium without physical effort? For this, you can use the usual baking soda and vinegar, which stand in the closet in the kitchen of every mother. To conduct this experience in chemistry, you will need:

  • balloon;
  • bottle;
  • 3-4 teaspoons of soda;
  • Table vinegar.

Soda is dropped directly into the ball with a funnel or spoon. After that, he is put on a bottle with a small amount of vinegar. As soon as soda from the ball begins to wake up in a bottle, it starts to swell, as if from helium. This is due to the fact that the vinegar reacts with soda, releasing carbon dioxide. The ball is inflated thanks to gas for a few seconds, just catch it!

Multi-colored layers in the bottle

The next experience in chemistry will clearly explain to the child the notion of the density of a liquid. For this we will use:

  • A quarter of a glass of sunflower oil;
  • A quarter of a glass of water, tinted in any bright color;
  • A quarter of a glass of sugar syrup (for a spectacular focus, it's also worth adding a dye).

The child can in advance assume what will happen when all these liquids are mixed. He will like the result - the syrup will settle down as the most dense, the water will be located in the middle, and the oil will remain on top. You can experiment with colors and liquids, making unimaginable compositions. For example, by adding a different amount of sugar in a syrup, it will be possible to obtain several liquids of different density.

Laboratory experiments in chemistry can be quite boring. Such spectacular and simple tricks will help to encourage the child to study science and just entertain on a rainy day.
