Methods for replacing hinges

The main thing in this business is to ensure that the external grenade descends from the slots. The internal CV joints are much easier to remove from the gear change box. To do this, you need to use two tools - a chisel and a hammer.

The chisel is installed between the box and the internal grenade so that it rests against a special protrusion on the surface of the gearbox. Light hammer blows can quickly extract an internal grenade from the gearbox. In this case, the impact should be applied to the side of the gearbox, regardless of whether you are shooting the left or right drive. At this removal of the knot with their own hands is completed, now it is necessary to start replacing the hinges.

How to replace a grenade

This procedure can be done by one's own hands very quickly, you will spend less time than preparing. The latter is necessary even if the replacement of anther of an external SHRUS is carried out. Immediately change the lock ring, but first put on an anther, under which you subsequently fill the required amount of lubricant. Now install the CV joint on the semiaxis.

Using a hammer, preferably of bronze, stuff a new grenade. Try not to damage the thread, otherwise you have to restore it (at best). After the locking ring has gone into the groove, you can consider the work almost finished. It remains only to install an anther, fill it with grease and fix it with clamps, replacing the outer joints on this is almost over.

Now install the drive in place, strictly in the reverse order. Please note that it is prohibited to remove both drives at a time. The reason lies in the fact that the bevel gears that enter into the design of the differential can go out of gear and fall into the gearbox housing. If it is necessary to remove both drives, you need to do this in turn, and after removing the first one, you must install a plug.
