Section 1. The first skyscrapers of the planet

At the end of the 19th century, high-rise giant buildings began appearing in the streets of the United States, which later became the visiting card of the country.

Until the end of the last century, no country could compete with the US in terms of the number of skyscrapers and their height, until they were tried to resist the "Asian tigers".

Today they occupy a leading position. The first places in the top ten of the world were occupied by buildings in China, Malaysia and Taiwan. Slightly less, but also draw attention to the skyscrapers of Dubai. Although in the latter case the matter is not at all in the height of the constructions. Here, experts first of all appreciate the originality of form and size.

Section 2. Typical features of the buildings of one of the richest countries in the world

The most famous skyscraper in Dubai is Burj Khalifa, also called Burj Dubai.

In a certain period of time, this "giant" was considered the tallest building on the planet. Its creators tried to do everything at the highest level, starting with the speed of construction (construction was carried out in the shortest possible time) and ending with the original elevators and a luxurious viewing platform.

Today, Dubai, whose photo does not come off the covers of popular travel magazines, is among the most actively growing cities in the world.

The newest skyscrapers can be seen on Sheikh Zayed Boulevard. There are hotels and hotels, as well as working offices.

Each building here is of architectural interest, it is special.

The most famous are:

  • Emirates Tower;
  • Firemont Dubai;
  • Park Place Tower;
  • The Tower of the Rose;
  • Dubai "sail" - Burj Al Arab;
  • The Millennium Tower;
  • Ze Tower, resembling Big Ben.

Another area that has a huge number of skyscrapers is Dubai Marina. Its splendor lies not only in high-rise buildings, - the coast of the Persian Gulf is very near , which means that the views that open from there are really stunning.

The combination of beaches, modern buildings, camel and desert guides in one place leaves an unforgettable impression. By the way, it should be noted that the Dubai airport is located in close proximity to the city, which means that the journey to your destination will not be exhausting.

Section 3. Burj Dubai - the most ambitious construction project

The most unusual building in Dubai is Burj Dubai, which is also known as the "Tower of Caliph".

Opening of the building was solemnly held in January 2010, after which he was awarded the title of the highest construction on Earth.

Burj Dubai harmoniously combines residential, commercial, entertainment, hotel areas, which are located among the picturesque green landscapes of the Persian Gulf and local lakes.

The main tower is located on the shore of the largest artificial lake, along the banks of which, as if by magic wand, the Old Town, hotels, restaurants, residential and corporate complexes, as well as other infrastructure, are located.

From the point of view of architects, the basic concept of the building is to recreate the axis, which narrows, from the foundation to the top. Each floor represents a kind of separate coil.

This project is considered one of the most ambitious in the world: in accordance with the decision of the creators, the design both inside and outside is indeed a technological miracle.

By the way, the amount of investments in the project is astronomical: 73 billion dirhams (in translation to the American national currency it is about 20 billion dollars).

Section 4. "Almaz" Tower

The 74-story skyscraper, called the "Almaz" Tower, is also famous for its popularity in Dubai.

The beginning of the construction of the building was scheduled for 2005, the opening was held in 2010. To date, the 360-meter skyscraper rises above the city and is simply mesmerizing by its kind of tourists visiting Dubai. A photo on its background is simply impossible not to do.

Basically, all floors are used for commercial purposes except for the number "4", which is considered technical.

Currently, the building houses several well-known companies of the Arab Emirates, which are engaged in diamond cutting and sale.

Section 5. Rotating tower - the structure of the future

This project is still in development. In the construction will be invested more than 540 million dollars, but it's worth it, because, as expected, 90% of the structure will change shape.

With the implementation of the project, the rotating tower can become one of the wonders of the world, so its developers carefully study all the difficulties and do not rush to begin construction.

In accordance with the plans of designers, the design will be impressive: 388-420 meters in height, which will be 80 floors. Each floor should rotate around its own axis.

In addition to the hotel complex, the infrastructure will include swimming pools, gardens and freight elevators for cars.
