Aerodrome "Chkalovsky": address and directions

The airfield "Chkalovsky" (Moscow region) is a strategically important military complex. It was founded at the beginning of the 20th century. Chkalovsky airfield (address: Schelkovo-10 microdistrict , Shchelkovo-3) is located to the north-east of the capital. Further in the article we learn about what this complex represents today. The material will tell you about what units the Chkalovsky airfield has, how to get to the complex.

General information about the object

The airfield "Chkalovsky" refers to the first class. The complex can receive helicopters of all types, as well as light aircraft. For example, Tu-154, Il-62, An-124 and the like. The State Air Company "223th Flight Squad" is based on it. This organization is an enterprise that carries out commercial transportation using military aircraft. In addition to the aircraft of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the complex has every reason to receive Roskosmos, MVD, and civil aircraft. The latter - only by prior agreement. The complex is an airfield of joint distribution. The base is deployed on it, which includes special purpose units: 206, 353 and 354.

The history of the Chkalovsky aerodrome

In the past on the territory of the complex there was a separate test-training aviation regiment of special purpose No. 70. This formation of the name of VS Seregin was included in the RGNII CTC. The military unit was armed with such models as L-39, Tu-154, IL-76MDK and Tu-134. The Institute of Cosmonautics named after Yu. A. Gagarin was formed several years ago. It was created on the basis of the 70th Air Force. At its disposal were flight-technical elements and aircraft of the former regiment. Also earlier in the territory was the 8th pilot division of special purpose, which in 2010 was disbanded. The units that are currently taking Chkalovsky airfield (military unit 42829, other military formations), include four battalions of security and maintenance.

Development and operation

VS Chernomyrdin approved a special Government Order. Since that moment Chkalovsky airdrome, the address of which is indicated above, has become open for flights of military aircraft. The object received international status. Through it, on one-time orders, cargo air transportations and charter civilian passenger flights passed. At the end of the 20th century, the airport "Chkalovsky" was organized. "It was also planned to open a special passenger terminal.

Unfulfilled plans

According to the preliminary plan in the summer of 2010, regular passenger flights to Abkhazia were to be carried out from this air complex. It was assumed that the Russian Air Force will carry out two flights a week. However, a prohibiting order of the relevant authorities was issued. This was a refusal to issue a license for this type of aviation security activity to Chkalovsky Airport. The official reason was the incompatibility of the applicant with the necessary conditions and requirements.

Empowerment

Aviakompleks is one of the contenders for the fourth international airport of the capital. However, the airfield "Chkalovsky" has a big drawback in the struggle for this important status in the capital air hub. Transport accessibility makes it less competitive. In the current year, a final decision was made on this issue. To eliminate this shortcoming, an official permit was obtained from the Ministry of Natural Resources. In order to be able to build a twin of the six-lane Shchelkovsky Highway, it is necessary to cut down more than forty hectares of forest. Also among such facilities will be Losiny Island, which is part of the national park. The length of the new road will be more than twenty kilometers. The route is planned to be built to bypass settlements. The route by car will take less than fifteen minutes (from MKAD to the point "Chkalovsky airfield"). How to get to the facility, it will be clear after the completion of construction work. Now the facility can be reached by public transport. Prior to the sign "Chkalovsky airfield" the route is the following: from the bus station of the capital (central) (metro station "Shchelkovskaya") by bus or bus under the numbers 375, 321, 380, 320, 378. By car, the road runs along Schelkovskoye highway.

Innovative offer

In 2012, in competitive conditions for the development of the metropolitan agglomeration concept, recommendations were made for the creation of a dual electric infrastructure network. The idea belongs to Rainier de Graaf, an architect from Holland. It was assumed that one of the networks is intended for electric public transport, and another for a high-speed railway. They were to connect the periphery around the complexes Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Chkalovsky. The latter, according to the Dutchman's point of view, needs to be reorganized into a cargo air port. Thus, it has every chance of becoming one of the largest in the whole world.

Variants of reconstruction

At the beginning of the past (2013), the third international conference "The Russian Aviation Fuel Market" was held. One of the most significant speeches was the speech of Vladimir Nazarov. In his speech, the vice-president of Transnefteprodukt said that negotiations with another leading enterprise are in full swing now. In the event of their successful outcome, the military airfield "Chkalovsky" will be connected to a tap from the ring main oil pipeline. This element has been around for a long time. However, the last pumping through it from the KNPP to the air complex was made a long time ago. The Moscow ring oil pipeline is a structural joint, which consists of three looped pipeline threads. They are transported diesel fuel, gasoline and kerosene. The substances do not mix with each other. KNPP is connected to the air complexes Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo. There are also special supplies from the Ryazan oil refinery and the Moscow refinery.

The crash of An-26RT

This event Occurred in 1988. The plane made a training flight, the purpose of which were exercises in carrying out takeoff and landing in night conditions without the use of headlights and searchlights. After making a successful landing by the crew members, it was decided to perform an unplanned take-off from the conveyor. To carry out the plan, they had to make a sharp movement of the engine control knob on the pointer of the fuel lever position. Just before take-off, the propeller blades of the right engine rotated in such a position that the effect of this element on the drag of the aircraft becomes minimal. However, the crew of the plane could not notice this on time and continued to take off. At a sufficiently high altitude, at a speed of about 200 km / h, the engine stopped. The personnel tried to launch an auxiliary power unit. Unfortunately, all three attempts were performed in the wrong way. The crew did not follow the instructions and launched the right engine at unresolved low speed and altitude. The device switched to a stalling mode. As a result, the plane fell into a small pond, hitting the roof of the country house during the fall. Then it collapsed and burnt. The tragedy occurred in the village of Kudinovo, fifteen kilometers from the air center "Chkalovsky". Killed six people - all crew members (commander of the ship, flight mechanic, flight technician, assistant commander, boardwriter and navigator).

The crash of IL-75DT

In the summer of 2001, this cargo plane, owned by the airline "Rus", flew to the city of Norilsk. The take-off was carried out at a speed that significantly exceeded the permissible. The commander of the ship at an altitude of about ten meters to compensate for the deviation to the left of the takeoff course, began to perform a right turn with a roll of several degrees. Having gained altitude in the course of these actions, the crew made the stabilizer rest, in the absence of a compensating deviation of the height lever. The sequence of these manipulations is a violation of the standards and recommendations of flight management. The reason for losing control over the stabilizer is probably setting it to a position that does not actually correspond to the value of centering and weight. The Special Commission carried out a detailed investigation of the accident. As a result, it was established that the control of the stabilizer during take-off is a regular and characteristic violation of the ship's commander. In addition, it turned out that the crew itself often performed similar actions when detaching an airplane. A few seconds before the collision with the obstacle, which was the tree on the takeoff course, an attempt was made to deflect the elevator. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to perform the maneuver, and the collision was inevitable. At an altitude of twenty-two meters the ship collided with trees. As a result of the incident, the third and fourth engines were refused, as well as the chassis bearings were severely damaged. As a result, the aircraft crashed into the ground and collapsed. Before sending the plane its download scheme was not compiled. During the investigation of the commission it was possible to establish that the take-off mass of the vessel exceeded the maximum permissible norm by several tons. After the crash, the aviation kerosene was ignited from the tanks. To prevent the outbreak of the fire, all the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region were used. The fact that the board fell in the forest, rather than one of the numerous nearby settlements, can be considered a happy coincidence. All the people on the plane died. Among them were two passengers and eight crew members.

Prevention of the Tu-154 accident

Three years ago, a plane crash in the Moscow Region was prevented. This is due to the professionalism and skill of military pilots. This aircraft was parked for more than ten years. It was decided to move it from the aerodrome for capital repairs. During take-off there was a complete failure of the ship's control system. The crew managed to hold the aircraft in a horizontal position with the help of engines. Personnel alternately changed the position of their ailerons and traction. Despite all efforts, the ship lost altitude and heavily heeled. During the second attempt, the pilots managed to safely land the aircraft on the Chkalovsky airfield. Thanks to skilful actions of the crew members, it was possible to prevent the crash and avoid human casualties. A special check established the cause of the incident. It was the wrong connection of the structural element of the automatic on-board control system to the power system. A presentation was made on the elimination of violations.

The airfield "Chkalovsky". Kaliningrad

This object is the best on the territory of the Kaliningrad region. The runway of the airfield "Chkalovsky" is sixty meters in width and three thousand meters in length. In addition, the runway has no restrictions on the weight of aircraft. Its territory exceeds the mark of seven hundred hectares. The complex can be used by absolutely all types of existing aircraft. It does not have equal number of dispersal sites, zones for group and individual parking. At the end of the last century, "Chkalovsk" was a basic airfield for two formations of naval aviation. However, this did not affect the decision to stop using the complex. The parts there were disbanded, and the equipment was transported to Chernyakhovsk.
