Acaricide treatment against ticks: rules and features

The mites are arthropods arachnids. This is the most numerous class group (roughly 48,000 species). Some of them are parasitic and quite dangerous. Acaricide treatment allows you to protect the home and land from such "guests."

Varieties of ticks and their degree of danger

For a person, not all mites are dangerous. However, some still are parasites and carriers of dangerous diseases.

The first group includes microscopic individuals. Many of them are harmless, but on contact cause skin irritation. Their main mission is to participate in the formation of humus (they contribute to the decomposition of organic matter).

The second group includes small parasites. Some of the ticks live by eating cultivated plants. These creatures in their majority are considered pests of crops.

The third group is "vampires". They are especially dangerous for us. They feed on these mites with the blood of the "master." However, the main danger lies in the spread of various ailments. Ticks can carry a lot of bacteria from sick organisms to healthy ones. Sometimes one tick bite is enough to cause the human body (or animal) to die. Immediately identify the danger of a "vampire" is impossible: as a hotbed of diseases, the parasite itself remains absolutely healthy and does not differ from its kind of brethren. By the way, representatives of this family are inclined to "omovampirism": the hungry attack the fed for the sake of blood sampling.

One of the effective ways to protect against these creatures is acaricide treatment from ticks.

What tools are used?

Repellent poisons. They scare off ticks. The basis is diethyltoluamide (acts on all blood-sucking insects). Can be applied to clothes and body. A huge plus is that diethyltoluamide acts up to 5 days. The main advantage is low toxicity. Examples include Biban, Medilis, Reftamid, Off-Extreme.

Acaricidal agents. Preparations allow exterminating parasites on the treated area (directly at the site of spraying solutions). The most popular are "Tornado-anti-cell", "Reftamid", "Gardex".

Insecticide-repellent means. They have a broader, more combined effect. Allow to kill ticks, preventing new invasions. The most commonly used drugs are Kra-Rep, Klesch-Kaput, Gardex Extreme. The main constituents are alphamethrin and diethyltoluamide

The most commonly chosen is acaricidal treatment. Chemicals, penetrating the body of the parasite, paralyze its nervous system. Ticks dies pretty quickly. Acaricide treatment of the area should be carried out only by specialists, since the drugs used are quite toxic.

Time of processing

The fight against mites is best done either in spring or in autumn. The first option is preferable, as the parasites activate and multiply in a warm time (and sometimes in winter, if there is a plus temperature in the street). Spring processing will deprive mites of the opportunity to breed. The territory must be prepared, removing the fallen leaves and old grass.

Where should the treatment be carried out?

First of all - in places where there are a lot of people. It:

  • City parks;

  • Horticultural societies;

  • Coastal zones;

  • Recreation center.

Acaricide treatment can be carried out in the courtyards of private houses, including in adjacent areas.

Help professionals

It is better to use the services of professionals than to process the territory independently. Why? Experts select the means, the most effective and at the same time safe. However, you only need to contact those employees whose companies are registered, have work experience and positive feedback from customers.

In addition, you should be aware that acaricidal treatment is considered preventative. It is held regularly, at sites of different categories. According to the resolution adopted on 08.11.2007 (FZ No. 258), the acaricidal treatment of OKVED (code 74.70.3) does not require licensing.

On the one hand, this means that it can be performed by non-professionals (processing of own plots by the owner himself). On the other hand, only a specialist will determine which mite the area is infected with, and to what extent, and decide which drug will prove more effective (individual selection of poisons for a particular site). In addition, self-conducted acaricidal treatment may prove to be not only useless (therefore, economically disadvantageous), but also dangerous for health.

Price of issue

And here there is a natural question: "How much does professional acaricidal treatment?" The price (in this case - the total cost of work) will be determined based on the size of the site, the area itself and, of course, the drugs used. On average, for processing a standard summer cottage in 10 hectare can request from 6 to 10 thousand rubles.

On a note...

  1. If you decide to hold such events, notify the neighbors about it.

  2. Take away from the territory of animals.

  3. From the site, remove hand tools, utensils, children's toys; Cover the tables in the arbors, close the windows and turn off the ventilation.

  4. Do not pick berries, vegetables, mushrooms (at least 10 days) on the treated areas.

  5. Do not forget to clean after the treatment: wash the tables, playgrounds (benches, swings, sandbox, etc.) with a solution of soda.

  6. The duration of action of the funds used depends on their composition. For example, the decomposition of cypermethrin (a substance that is used most often in open areas) occurs in a month, a maximum of one and a half. At this time, mites caught on the treated sites die. After a month and a half processing is desirable to repeat.
