A new word in the field of packaging materials: stretch films

Time does not stand still. In place of one material comes the other - more universal and modern. More recently, the use of stretch films has become firmly established. Their name is due to the English word "stretch", which in translation means "lengthening", "stretching". This is their main feature: stretch films can stretch to 300%! In this case, the material not only retains its strength, but also pulls together the goods, ensuring the integrity and stability of the package. Due to its elasticity, the PVC stretch film takes the shape of the object. Between itself its layers adhere without additional adhesives, which allows you to pack any load quickly and reliably.

Where is the most commonly used stretch film?

I must say that the scope of their use is quite wide. Stretch film packaging is widely used in enterprises, warehouses, for various jobs. For example, these are:

  • For packaging of non-food products and food products;
  • For winding boxes to protect against chips, scratches and other mechanical damage;
  • To protect products from dust and moisture (for example, carpets, furniture);
  • To maintain the integrity of the pallet, which allows several times to increase the speed of unloading or loading products.

Film Features

Unlike other packaging materials made on the basis of polyethylene, stretch films have special properties that make them irreplaceable in application:

  1. Prestreich. This concept includes at once two features - stretching and subsequent tightening. Due to this property, the packing material is saved.
  2. Tightening force. After stretching the stretch film tend to take the original form, which allows you to securely fix the goods.
  3. Strength. The winding in several layers protects the goods well from punching and puncturing. In addition, they are not contaminated or exposed to moisture.
  4. Adhesion. The layers of the stretch film adhere well to each other, so they do not need to be fixed with each other. At the same time, they do not stick to products and if it is necessary to remove the packaging, they are easily removed from the surface of the goods without leaving traces.
  5. Wide temperature range. This property makes it possible to use this material for packing frozen and cooled products.

Varieties of film

There are two types of stretch film. One of them is used for manual packaging. Most often it is used for small volumes of products, for the formation of assortment goods or for repackaging.

The second type is the machine stretch. It is advisable to apply it when it comes to a large number of goods. It can be of two types:

  • Universal (for transport processing both on the simplest machines, and on devices with the mechanism prestrajcha);
  • With increased elongation (designed for automatic paletoupakovschikov working at high speeds).

As you can see, stretch films meet all standards and requirements, which are taken into account today in the market of packaging materials.
