A little book with your own hands

Despite the fact that the stores now sell a variety of toys and children's books, every mom wants to make a beautiful gift for her baby herself. Therefore, such sites are popular for handicrafts and creativity. On them you can find patterns of soft toys, photo about sewing for dolls or video "hand made book-baby". With their own hands, with the help of these instructions, you can create a variety of crafts. How to make a book for children?

Here are some tips for those who first decided to make a book himself.

  1. First of all, you need to think over the plot and determine the number of pages, find the necessary pictures and photos.
  2. The simplest little book is made from a band of paper folded into an accordion. For a clamshell book with a cover, the creation process will be longer.
  3. Pages for the book can be made from the paper, cardboard for children's creativity, paper for pastels or for drawing, corrugated cardboard.
  4. Drawings and photographs are best glued with double-sided tape: the adhesive can soften from the glue and begin to bump after drying. If you still work with glue, then it is necessary to wipe the place of gluing from its remains and place the drawing under the press.
  5. The voluminous details for the children's book should not be very small and poorly fixed, so that the child does not accidentally tear off or eat the item they liked.
  6. Safe, beautiful and cognitive - this should be the children's book. With my own hands to make a similar book for a child is twice as pleasant.

Cradle book

To make a clamshell book you will need:

  • Paper for pages;
  • Decorative paper for cover;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • Universal adhesive;
  • cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • Ruler;
  • pencil;
  • Lace or thin braid, the length of which is equal to the book with the cover multiplied by four widths.

Description of work

  1. First, you need to cut out two rectangles of cardboard with sides equal to the width and length of the book.
  2. Now, from the decorative paper for the cover, we cut out two rectangles with sides 2 cm longer than the length and width of the book.
  3. From the decorative paper of a different color, we cut out a strip to fasten the braid about 2 cm in length, smaller than the width of the book, and wider than the width of the braid by one and a half centimeters.
  4. Then we make pages. To do this, cut out another rectangle, but from the paper for the pages. The width of the rectangle will be equal to the height of the page, and the length to the width of the page multiplied by the number of pages in the book plus 2 pages. Fold the resulting rectangle with an accordion.
  5. When calculating it is necessary to remember that on the reverse side of the accordion you also need to mark out the text and pictures. Otherwise, white sheets will remain on the other side, and an unfinished little book will turn out. With your hands, you need to go through the folds several times to make the book look neat.
  6. We paste by means of a two-sided scotch of a cardboard for a cover, wrapping them with the cut out rectangles from a decorative paper.
  7. We glue to the first cover the first sheet of the accordion, and to the second - the last sheet.
  8. We decorate the book with decorative braid. First we glue the book with a universal glue on the book. After the glue dries, we glue the strip on top to fix the braid.

Now you can start writing text, drawing illustrations, gluing pictures and photos on the selected story. We got a beautiful little book. With your hands, you can not only make a book of paper, but also sew it from cloth, decorating with decorative elements: lace, appliqués, buttons, embroidery.

It will be interesting to sew a thematic book with removable applications that can be moved inside the book. Such removable parts can also be a countable material, which is very useful for the development of the child's small motor skills . Pages are better to make from different in texture and drawings of material. Thus, the child learns to distinguish colors, define a smooth or rough surface, develop their tactile sensations - and this is all given by one little book. With his hands a small child can touch all the details, leaf through the pages. If the book breaks, the mother will always be able to sew it up, and in case of contamination wash.
