ZIL-41047: specifications and description of the Soviet limousine

ZIL-41047 is the last passenger car of which the USSR is the birthplace. But this is not its only feature. This model is good in that it was created without limitations and thoughts about how expensive and cost-effective the machine will turn out to be. But the developers just managed to make it powerful and effective.

Briefly about the model

The history of the ZIL-41047 car begins in 1985. Despite the fact that this model is quite "adult", if it can now be seen on the roads, then there is no way to do without admiration. It looks really amazing.

Interestingly, the production of each such representative limousine took six months. During the year, it was possible to produce a maximum of 20 copies. And, naturally, the overwhelming majority of them came out in the Soviet Union. If you look closely at the model, you can see some similarities with the predecessor, which was the car 41045. And indeed, the new ZIL limousine in those days appeared before the people as a profound modernization 41045.

And he appeared for a reason. In 1985, the Soviet Union received a new leader. And he often traveled, not only through the territory of the USSR. He needed a powerful, valiant and beautiful car. They became ZIL-41047. Its length is 6 330 mm, and the mass is 3,350 kg. Not surprisingly, even today this car is the heaviest serial sedan.

Design Features

Armored versions of ZIL-41047 were released in just 14 pieces. And these models really could provide a decent level of safety and reliability to its owner. In some places, the limousine armor was 8 centimeters thick! Glasses had even more impressive performance. Their thickness was 8.5 cm! Through them, even bullets of 7.62 caliber with armor-piercing hardened core did not pass. This could not go unnoticed.

After the Soviet Union collapsed, American experts purchased an armored ZIL limousine. After studying its design, they realized that the Soviet developers built a car around the armor. It was a surprise for the American masters. After all, no one did. Usually armored sheets are simply secured inside the body.

Appearance

The design of this limousine is truly impressive. That there is only one rear overhang, the length of which is 1.5 meters. And the color! How deep it is, can not help attracting attention. And this is not surprising, because for each body was applied at least 9 layers of paint. And as a maximum - 15. Thus all layers were dried and polished.

Interestingly, the side mirrors were not installed on the door, but in the corner of the glass. Still worth noting that in the front wings are rubber caps. They are designed for pins of flagpoles. But the main "highlight" is the trauma-safe emblem on the hood, which can be folded, if you click on it.

By the way, despite the very impressive weight, the limousine's clearance is 17 centimeters, and this is in the lowest place of the model.

Salon

Now Russian machines are skeptical. Especially to the quality of the finish. But if you look inside the Soviet limousine, you can see how everything glitters with luxury.

The car interior is finished with a natural high-quality tree. The classic 2-spoke steering wheel is adjustable in tilt angle. The driver's seat is equipped with various settings. It can be adjusted almost anything. Front seats, by the way, are separated by a massive tunnel.

The parking brake is also quite unusual. It is activated by a foot pedal, as on "Mercedes". There is an electric drive for the windows (the control keys are located under the panel). There is also a fan for them. It's interesting that even in the 80s a Soviet-built limousine was equipped with what is now called a 2-zone "climate" - air conditioners were installed inside, one for the driver, and the other for the rear passenger.

And ZIL-41047, the photo of which was provided above, boasts an excellent level of noise insulation. After all, the layer of material that provides it is layered in the thickness of 5 centimeters.

Characteristics

The fact that the engine is installed under the hood of this representative car, just amazing. Now many admire the V-shaped "eight" and "six". But few people know that the Soviet limousine boasts a 7.7-liter V8-engine, whose power is equal to 315 horsepower. And its torque is 608 N • m at 2500 rpm. Incidentally, this is much more than the popular now Japanese sports car Nissan GT-R. These are the car's ZIL-41047 specifications.

The engine, by the way, carburetor, 4-chamber, with a block of aluminum. Thanks to him, a car weighing almost 3.5 tons accelerates to 100 km / h in just 13 seconds. And its maximum speed is 190 km / h. It is also worth noting that this model is equipped with a 2-circuit braking system. And its engine is running a 3-band hydraulic machine.

In general, this is really a powerful and attractive limousine, also released in the Soviet Union. In our time, it can cost about 10 million rubles (with a minimum mileage and an excellent, "gift" state). True, if you can find it on sale. To date, such a car owns only collectors and connoisseurs of the car industry classics.
