Apple tree Antonovka: landing and leaving
The pit, suitable for the size of the seedlings, is prepared in advance. This is done so that the soil has time to settle and naturally rammed. Yablonya Antonovka occupies places on a site about 1 m 2 . Extracted from the pit, the ground is abundantly savored with organic fertilizers, nutritious compost and humus. Plant the plants in spring or late autumn, but before frost. The radical neck should be above the ground level at least 6-7 cm. The roots are neatly placed in the pit and covered with soil, carefully trampling the surface after planting. Some gardeners prefer to create a liquid soil in the pit, diligently fertilizing it and diluting it with water, and then the seedling is gradually sprinkled. This technology is suitable only for areas with a low groundwater level, otherwise the roots can rot. For the winter, the young tree is tied with fir paws, and the trunk circle is mulched with manure.
Further care for Antonovka is the regular pruning of weak and dead branches, as well as the formation of the crown. Correctly trimmed tree gives more abundant harvests, lives longer and less cold in winter. Pruning should be done in spring, starting from the second year of life: shorten the main trunk and remove a third of all new branches. Such simple maintenance will allow to provide the family with apples for long years.
